The Rant Book

is there a map? GPS? anything?

helloooooo 

now despite my title...i'm surprisingly not gonna talk about directions or direction giving or ANYTHING to do with locations for that matter. i'm talking about something a little bit deeper then that....

truth is we're all living life. we're all on some path. and truth is when i was younger (and maybe when we were all younger) i thought life was pretty straight forward i thought my life was gonna be simple as ABC and it would go something like:

1. Finish elementary school

2. Finish high school

3. Go to university

4. Graduate university

5. Get a job

6. Get married

7. Buy a house

8. Have kids

9. Watch kids grow up

10. Have kids having kids

11. Retire

12. Die

alright the last step is obviously *slightly* morbid, but you get what i'm saying.  I thought that life would be pretty simple, black and white, and some things obviously i would have to fill in the blank myself, or there might be another step or two in there, but i thought life was straightforward

but it's not.

life isn't straightforward. in fact, i like to think that rather than us going on a journey on a path....we're sailing on our ship in the ocean. truth is, you don't know what to expect at sea. sometimes, you don't even have a map! and even if you do, sometimes it's not as helpful as you think. and when you're at sea there are good days, and the ocean is so deep and blue and the sun is out and it all seems pretty good.

but then there are the storms, and the waves are practically trying to drown you and tear your ship apart, and you're hanging on for dear life and trying to make it through because there's got to be an end to the storm. 

sometimes these storms end up throwing us off, and sometimes it turns out we weren't even going the right way in the first place! but truth is you have to keep going....even when it doesn't seem like you can.  

and truth is life is really a maze, a journey and turmoil is inevidable in all of this and truth is everyone's gotta have a rough patch or two in the road whether it's now, or later on, or it was near the beginning...sometimes not all of us are blessed with the greatest situations or tasks but sometimes we just gotta go with it....
