Gourgeists

You would not lie -- hearing Gourgeists voice was something you took great delight in; even more so when he decided to sing. It was an unexpected talent at first, since your limited knowledge of ghost-type Pokemon caused you to conclude that he wouldn't have that kind of ability. Of course, your Pokedex proved you completely wrong, and it came as a pleasant surprise when he first decided to sing for you.

It had been only a few months after you caught him; it was during a particularly difficult battle with another ghost-type trainer. This, of course, only meant trouble for you and your opponent. As a last resort, your Gourgeist (which had been a quaint Pumpkaboo at the time) sung, and effectively won the battle. He may not care very much about it today, but it was an important moment for you in the very least.

Now, he had grown accustomed to singing for you outside of battles. At first, it was solely at your constant - and not to mention relentless - request, but he seemed to be enjoying himself nonetheless. His smiles grew more common, you started to notice, as your time with him grew as well. To you, it was a reminder of your special relationship with Gourgeist; you weren't sure if he felt the same way, but that hardly mattered at the moment.

At this moment, all that you cared about was his voice.

He was singing, once again, in his melodious low tone of voice. He encircled you in his arms - a customary tradition you had put in place - and placed his head besides yours. While he sang, you were busy smoothing over his peach-coloured hair, using your fingers in a rhythmic sort of way that you knew he enjoyed. His own hands were pressed against your back to keep you in close proximity - you guessed he was afraid you'd leave.

It was a peaceful sort of moment, but grew tense once his grip around you tightened almost desperately. You tried to non-verbally assure him that you weren't going anywhere, but he either didn't seem to notice, or was not convinced. He broke off his singing for a while to mutter something incoherent against your ear, but you were unable to understand what he was saying. You didn't have time to think about it since his music resumed almost as quickly as it had stopped, this time with lighter, happier tone that seemed foreign to you. While you were sitting there, dazed and encased in his arms, you could hardly retain the words he was muttering. He only ever sung like this when he was battling another Pokemon or, in your case, he was hunting.

This time, it seemed, you were taking the role of his prey.
