it all started as a mere cough.
a simple little cough that never hurt anyone along with sea contamination
but now, Yereni couldn't even breathe without having a wheezing noise in it. it was quite difficult for him breathe, his throat was burning with ache & his eyes watered by any type of breeze, he was rather fragile to say the least, but he still kept at it, hiding the fact that his gills were mutated with a biiig smile and a happy/flirty attitude, covering up his gills with one of the scarfs eridan has gifted him. He barely breathed when someone was near or talking to him so it doesn't get noticed, all of this because he doesn't know what will happen or how people would react if he tells.
