Girl-next-door never summed up who Nora was to Leo. Maybe it was about convenience and proximity when they were babies; he remembers the thrill they got out of sneaking into each other's places and even timing each other. He didn't realize til she found a new best friend but the time they spent going to and from school made every school day for him. Leo couldn't help being jealous of Luisa she understands Nora in ways he must not though -- which is why he got his own krewe over time even if he never got a new best friend. And even though they see each other way less regularly, they still feel like best friends when they end up on the same bus and they see each other's insecurities. But now that he's living with his father, he'd have to walk all the way across town to see her. And when she reminds him of their old hormone-fueled best friend pact in middle school to be each other's firsts after a fight at school makes her want something just for herself, that's exactly what he does
