Alrighty guys.

Um.

Welp.

Read this bugger in a grand total of 5 hours.

Let me begin my review by saying I'm never going to trust anyone again. Ever. Not after finishing The Infinite Sea. Damn Rick Yancey and his stupid, goddamn - 

This is the non-spoilery section. Okay. Uh, how do I review this without giving away spoilers? I'll do my best.

Basically, we begin with Ringer's point of view, and then shit happens and I almost cried, and then we're in Cassie's point of view. Then more shit happens. I'm not gonna lie, there were several places in the book where i legitimately gasped and covered my mouth. I was that surprised. And upset.

And yes, there were some parts where I questioned whether or not it was going in the right direction. A certain character does something and it's questionable but it's okay because we love this character but still (s)he could have probably handled it differently.

SAMMY IS SO CUTE BECAUSE HE LIKE CUSSES AND STUFF AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH except he doesn't seem like a cute little boy anymore. He seems like a cute little soldier and it breaks my heart because Sams.

BUT HOLY MOTHER OF PLOT TWISTS AT THE END WHAT THE HELL

So I think you should read it as soon as possible. Yes, it's short, but Mr. Yancey packs so much damn stuff into 300 pages. You won't be bored. There isn't a dull moment to be found, which was awesome.

Okay, those of you who haven't subjected yourself to the emotional trauma that is The Infinite Sea. You can go now. I'm about to get really shouty.

 WHAT THE FRICK FRACK HAPPENED

DID I READ IT CORRECTLY?

AM I CORRECT IN MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THE WHOLE ALIEN THING WAS  A LIE AND THAT THERE AREN'T ACTUALLY ALIENS THERE'S JUST A PROGRAM DOWNLOADED INTO CERTAIN PEOPLE BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT IS SCREWY?

BECAUSE IF SO THEN I'M SO DONE WITH THIS SHIT

Anyway

CAN WE JUST STOP AND APPRECIATE THE BEAUTY OF EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER THAT RICK YANCEY WRITES

PLEASE

BECAUSE THEY ALL MAKE ME WANT TO CRY

Let's talk about Cassie and how wonderful she is for not succumbing to the beauty that is Evan Walker. I love how she doesn't just fall into his arms when he comes back. I love how she's still guarded even while he's proclaiming his love so obviously. That is what a strong girl looks like. So yeah, I love Cassie.

Ringer is also amazing. I didn't think I'd love her as much as I do. Tbh I suspected in the first book that she was actually Cassi's friend Lizbeth, but then I realized that they'd probably recognize each other rather than have bitch battles.

AND POUNDCAKE, WHO SUCCESSFULLY BROKE MY FRICK FRACKING HEART BECAUSE THE LINE "DYING DIDN'T BOTHER HIM. DYING WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT HPAPEND TO HIS BROTHE RBOTHERED HIM."

I'm way too emotional. I apologize.

So, yeah. I'll probably read it again soon and update this review. Please, if you have read it already, don't be afraid to talk to me about it. I need to talk to someone about it.
