So, at first I was kinda apprehensive about this book. It was assigned reading for a class at school, and my teacher has a habit of picking the most horrible books for us to read. So, yeah, I wasn't very thrilled about this book.
And then I started to read it. And I couldn't stop. The story is amazing, and little Scout Finch is the most adorable little girl evar. I love her so damn much, and she's a fictional character.
Don't be put off by the fact that it was written, like, fifty years ago. Some old-timey books are hard to understand, but TKM was so easy to read, and so good, that I want to read it again and again. I want to buy myself a copy and write all my thoughts on the pages, and mark my favorite lines and quotes, because this book has a fair amount. Not as many as TFiOS, but a lot.
If you ever, ever get a chance to read this, you have to. A little birdie (aka my little sister) told me that it's presumably the only book a certain Niall Horan (dunno about the name - it's one of the guys from One Direction) has ever read. Thought I'd throw that out there to you zealous 1D fans. You know. For marketing purposes and such.
What am I talking about? Sorry, I got way off topic. The book. Right. To Kill a Mockingbird.
SPOILER ALERT!
I wanted to punch Bob freaking Ewell in the face by the end of this book. He was such a freaking douchebag to everyone! God, I hate him. When it became clear that he had had the intention of killing Scout and Jem, I shut the book and almost punched a wall. I didn't pick the book up again until the next day, I was so mad at him.
I think I'm a tad over-sensitive.
