Woaaahh!! It's almost been a whole 2 years after this thing came out! I don't know why I've been avoiding it, however I decided to watch this highly rated title now~
Insert Katsuki Yuri, our main protagonist, ̶b̶a̶s̶e̶d̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶Y̶u̶z̶u̶r̶u̶ ̶H̶a̶n̶y̶u̶, an adorable, pathetic 23-year old who has just flubbed his chances for any place at the Grand Prix Final. And so as I continue watching this show, experiencing it raw for this first time (I actually actively avoided listening to any covers of History Maker), I can't help but feel drawn in as I see Yuri copying Viktor's (a champion skater) routine to show off to his friend, Yuuko.
I'm actually really relieved that after failing at the Grand Prix Final, Nationals, and all the other little competitions before he returns to Japan, that the lily doesn't lose his love for skating, and have to go through that whole episode arc of "I hate skating, but it's all that I am so I need to get back on my feet."
By the way, I know you might hate me for this, but the animation sucks :D The art style is pretty, and I could never be able to create a show like this, but when it comes to comparison, the show just falls in a category a little better than Attack on Titan. Pause when watching. Hilarious.
Anyhowsas, how I feel about the opening is love. I only have love for it, and I wish to cover it some day. But as that day is not today, I will just simply hope and dream about covering. The ending is less intriguing, but still nice on the ears, and I would play it as simple background music while writing or something (and surprisingly I'm not listening to it right now, amazingly enough).
So in the end, what do I think about this episode? Yuri is cute. Viktor is an exhibitionist. What is this gay shit?
