"I can see what's happening," Sam huffed as he folded his arms across his chest. 

"What?" Bucky looked up from his glass of scotch. 

"They don't even have a clue," Sam spoke up and flailed his hands in the direction of the couple on the dancefloor in front of them. 

You had your arms wrapped around Steve's neck while you were gazing deeply into his icy blue eyes. His hands were placed on your waist and he held a loving smile on his lips. 

The Avengers were hosting a party to celebrate their recent victory but the two men spent their time at the bar, drinking away the fact that they were alone and Steve wasn't.

Sam, Bucky, and Steve had been inseparable for years but ever since you joined the team two years ago, you had captured Steve's full attention. You spent every minute with him but insisted that you weren't dating. You kept saying that Steve was your best friend but everyone saw that you liked him and that Steve liked you.

"They'll eventually fall in love and that's when our trio," Sam motioned between himself, the supersoldier next to him and the other supersoldier dancing with you. "Is down to two." 

In the meantime, Steve had pulled you even closer to his body to the point that there was barely any space left between your faces. 

"Stop whining, Sam. We should be happy for him," Bucky stated but Sam could hear the sarcasm in his voice. 

Seconds later, their attention was drawn as the couple they had been observing plopped down on the stools beside them. "Whoah, what happened to you?" Bucky asked as the two of you were hysterically laughing.

"Steve stomped on my foot," You giggled. Steve's jaw dropped. 

"I didn't! You stepped on my foot, young lady,"He retorted.

"That is not true. You just weren't paying attention," You jokingly shot back before sipping your cocktail, eyeing him challengingly. He shook his head with a laugh.

"Let's get out of here. We could go to that playground down the street," You stated minutes later. The three men looked at you weirdly. 

"A playground," Bucky stated slowly with a raised brow. 

"Yeah, it could be fun. I'm slightly tipsy and I believe you two have done nothing but sulking and drinking," You said, looking at them knowingly. 

"I think it's a great idea. Let's go." Steve jumped to his feet and held out his arm to you. You grinned and hooked your arm through his. Bucky and Sam looked at each other, their eyes holding the same annoyed expression. 

You and Steve were like the high school couple that everyone loved and hated at the same time. 

The two soldiers followed you out to the playground and plopped down on the bench while you and Steve sat on the swings. 

"Look at them," Sam sighed, leaning his head on his palm as you laughed at something Steve had said. "They should get together already." 

Bucky turned to look at him. "If I didn't know you I would say you were jealous," He stated. 

Sam scoffed. "Jealous? Of that?" He nodded and Bucky was just in time to see you sitting down on Steve's lap. "Never." 

"Then why are you so onto them getting together?" Bucky frowned. Sam shrugged plainly.

While the two men were talking, you had got up from the swings and taken Steve to the small lawn behind the playground. You took his hand in your and started twirling around, earning a few laughs from Steve as you could barely stand up straight from the amount of alcohol you had consumed. 

You had said earlier that you were slightly tipsy but that was far from the truth. You were drunk. 

Raindrops started to come from the sky, small ones, innocent ones that wouldn't do much damage but only moments later, the small droplets had transformed into large ones and started to drench your hair. 

A shiver ran down your spine and Steve was quick to shake off the black jacket from his tuxedo and draped it over your shoulders. You grabbed his hand in yours before he could retract it. He didn't hesitate to intertwine his fingers with yours. He tucked the loose strand of drenched hair behind your ear and placed his hand on the back of your neck. 

You leaned in until your lips were brushing against his. His hot breath fanned your face and caused your cheeks to flush. His hand dropped and found itself on the small of your back. 

"We should get back," He murmured. "Before you get sick."

You giggled lightly. "I don't get sick," You stated in a low voice. 

"I thought I was the supersoldier, not you," He chuckled. You smiled. 

"I guess we'll have to find out." 

You pulled back from your previous position with a smirk. You strutted back to the two other boys. 

"We should head back. Steve'll get sick," You drunkenly laughed at your inside joke before hooking the arms of the soldiers through both of yours. You took them back to the facility with Steve hot on your heels. 

Instead of going back to the party like Sam and Bucky, you and Steve went to your bedroom. 

"Why do we keep doing this?" You asked Steve as he handed you a glass of water. 

"Do what?" He lowered himself on the bed beside you. You sipped some water and ran a hand through your wet locks. 

"This. Whatever it is that we have," You exhaled slowly, starting to sober up. 

You felt Steve's burning gaze on you and as you turned your head to look at him, he leaned in and captured your lips. You hungrily kissed back and wrapped your arms around his neck.

The next morning, you woke up next to Steve, feeling relieved, fulfilled. Everyone had been drunk off their asses last night so no one noticed you sneaking off with Steve. 

You sat at the kitchen counter, sipping coffee and munching away on a slice of toast. Steve plopped beside you and ran a hand down your back before leaning to press a loving kiss to your cheek. 

You felt the gazes of your teammates on you and you couldn't help but grin broadly. 

"You're together?" You heard Bucky mutter. 

"Yep." Steve didn't hesitate to say it out loud, something you had been wanting to hear for a long time. 

"Finally!" Everyone exclaimed.
