Every day. Every day you saw him on your way to school, and on your way home. But you had no idea who he was, or what his name was.

"Hey," You greeted the nameless boy while walking up the stairs.

"Hey," He said with the same smile you saw every day.

You walked to your apartment and opened the front door. On the doormat were a couple of letters, one written to you. You dumped the rest of the letters on the kitchen table and went to your bedroom. After putting your bag on your bed and your jacket somewhere on the floor, you plopped down on your office chair and ripped open the letter.

Dear Y/N Y/L/N,

This year's Halloween will be celebrated with a masquerade ball. You are obligated to be masked and nicely dressed. The doors will open at 20:30.

Former Greetings,

Organisation team.

You sighed out loud and fell back on your back. Right on that moment, your phone buzzed. You saw it was your best friend. "Hey," You answered.

"You read the letter, right?" She said.

"Yep, and I'm not going," You told her with a stern voice.

"Y/N, just because you had one bad party two years ago doesn't mean it'll go like that again this time," She sighed.

"Y/B/F..." You protested.

"No, Y/N, if you're not going for yourself, then please come for me. I'll be at your house at 6 with dresses, you don't have to do anything," she said. You thought for a moment. "Maybe you'll finally meet your prince charming!" She temptingly added. You could just hear the smirk in her voice.

"Alright, but I'm only doing this for you!" You said.

You raced down the stairs when you heard the doorbell. When you opened the door, you were greeted by your best friend holding two bags, one with the dresses and the other with her make-up. The two of you raced back to your room and sat down in front of the mirror, you started curling your hair while B/F/N started with her makeup.

After an hour and a half, you were done with both your hair and make-up. Your eyelids were covered in a shimmery red with jet black eyeliner. Your hair was in loose curls and the two front strands were pulled back and tied together. Your lips were a nice nude color and your cheeks rose red. Y/B/F had smokey eyes and dark red lips, her hair straight against her face. You were both walking around in a bathrobe, but now it was time for the dresses.

"Alright, are you ready?" Y/B/F asked while she grabbed the bag from your bed. You nodded slowly. "Ok, close your eyes," She chirped. You did what she told you and held out your hands. A soft and smooth fabric was put in them. "Open your eyes," You heard. You slowly opened your eyes and saw the white and black fabric. "Go on, put it on!" She pushed you to the bathroom.

You put on the dress, it hugged your body perfectly. The white skirt came to your knees and was in a couple of layers. The torso was white with black flowers covering it and it had off-shoulder sleeves. You admired yourself in the mirror for a while, twirling around and looking at the back.

"Y/N?" You were woken from your thoughts.

"I'm coming," You said and you exited the bathroom. "It's beautiful, Y/B/F," You breathed. You saw she already put her dress on too. It was a strapless mint green dress reached her ankles. There was a split in it too, starting at her thigh. "You look amazing!" You said with a dropped jaw.

"Thanks," She said and a light blush spread on her cheeks. You gave her a short hug. "I have your mask here," She said and she pulled out a little bag from the bag of the dresses. Your mask was white with the same flower pattern as your dress covering it. Y/B/F's mask was white with minty spirals on the sides of it and a mint feather. You put on the masks and went to your school.

When you arrived at the school's parking lot, you could already hear the music playing loudly. "Ready?"Y/B/F asked.

"Definitely!" You said as you took her hand in yours. You started at the bar since you both wanted a boy to come and ask you to dance. You stayed there for around half an hour until a boy came your way and asked Y/B/F to dance. She accepted and left you behind after saying sorry. You silently sipped your drink while staring at the dancing crowd, but then you felt a soft tap on your shoulder.

"Will you do me to honor and dance with me?" A brown haired boy asked you. You smiled and took the hand he held out. He took you to the dancefloor and laid his hand on your waist, you placed your hand on his shoulder. You swayed through the crowd in an elegant way while staring into each other's eyes. You had no idea who he was, and you didn't recognize his voice when he talked to you, so you just assumed you didn't know him.

When the slow song started, you stepped closer to his body and rested your underarm on his shoulder. Hesitantly, he laid his hand on your lower back. You put your chin on your hand, your head was now a few inches from his and you liked his presence so close near you.

You had been dancing for over an hour and your feet started to hurt in the heels you were wearing. "We can go outside if you want?" The boy asked you. You nodded and made your way through the crowd. When the cold air hit your face, you let out a deep breath.

"You know, I'm really enjoying my evening," The mysterious boy said while taking place next to you.

"Me too," You smiled.

"Maybe it's a good idea to take off our masks," He suggested after a while. You nodded slowly and reached for the string behind your head. "Here, let me," He offered while taking the strings from your hands. His fingers touched your neck and a shiver went down your spine. He released the mask and you took it in your hands. You noticed him staring at you. You felt your cheeks heat up, so you looked at your hands.

"It's your turn," You said softly. He woke up from his trance, his hands went to the back of his head and the next moment, you were faced with the nameless boy you saw every day. Your eyes widened and your lips slightly parted.

"Hey," He said while rubbing his neck.

You closed your mouth before speaking, "Hi."

"How come I have never seen you at school?" You continued when most of the shock was gone.

"I guess we were just the perfect strangers."
