A Smiley Face On A Dull Day (snowbarry)

As the weeks past the pair got themselfs into a little routine caitlin would visit the eye guy every day and she would bring his coffee sometimes a pice of cake from QCS.

They still didn't know the others names but that was ok.

"What up eyeguy!" Caitlin greated

"Its you" he said pretending to sound disgusted.

Caitlin giggled and threw a bag at him that sat down next to him and watched him take out the contence.

"deodorant really? are trying to tell me something"

Caitlin blushed in embassment but didn't say anything and watched him take out the rest of the stuff he frowned.

"Why have you gotten me crackers?"

She just shrugged the truth was she didn't mean to give him the crackers she must if left them in the bag by mistake but she wasn't going to tell him that.

Barry continued pulling stuff out like tooth brushes,tooth paste, soap, mouthwash, razors and other toiletries out of the bag.

"Why have you gotten me this stuff?"

Caitlin shrugged "it must be hard I cant go a day without washing my face without feeling dirty and you must go to a homeless shelter right so you can use the soap and stuff there..."

The eye guy just stared at her clearly confused.

"Its a pre-Im sorry gift I won't be able to see you tommrow I have a...thing"

Eye guy raised an eyebrow silantly challenging her to the truth she looked away from him but could still feel his eyes on her "fine I have a date tommrow"

"Ooooh fancy"

Caitlin laughed "its just a date I'm not marrying the guy and having his triplets"

Eye guy rolled his eyes "you know you don't have to come see me everyday or at all right?" He said turning more serious.

"I know but I like coming to see you and besides it gives people something to talk about" caitlin said giving a thumbs up to a random person who walked past staring at them but who quickly averted their gaze.

Eye guy huffed out a laugh "I'm changing location anyway"

Caitlin frowned "why?"

He just shrugged "can't I just want change?"

"Are you going to tell me where your going? because if you just leave I'll be pissed"

Eye guy pulled an old pice of paper and a pen out of his bag and scribbled down something then handed it to her "this is where I'm going"

Caitlin took it from his cold hands and tucked it into her pocket but not before giving it a once over.

"Whats in your bag anyway?"

"Thats none of yout business smiley face"

Caitlin rolled her eyes then paused and gave him a hard look "is it a body? because if it is I will begin to reconsider buying you coffee everyday"

"Do you really think I could fit a body in there?"

"For all I know, you  could be an escaped convic I don't know why your homeless"

The man froze at her comment that was the first time she had evey adressed that he was in fact homeless.

They sat in a awkward silence for a good few minutes neither one of them daring to look at the other untill caitlin's phone bleeped.

She smiled slightly as she read the text "I um...I have to go I'll see you Thursday?"

"Yeah Thursday new location, goodbye have fun on your date"

Caitlin frowned trying to remeber what he was talking about "Yes my date" caitlin said shaking her head "I forgot... I'll tell you how it goes..." caitlin said standing up "Bye eye guy"

"Bye smiley face" he mumbled as he watched her walk away.

She has slowly become apart of his life it was the one thing he looked forward to the one thing that made the staring, the whisping and the pointing bareable because he knew that knew matter what the weather was like he would see her and everything would just feel better when she was talking to him when she was smiling.

During the first few days he didn't really talk much just nodded or mumbled something because he wasn't stupid he knew he was homeless he knew that she was to good to be true even if all they did was talk.

He knew he couldn't get attached to her it wasnt fair on either of them that's why he gave her a false adress these were the thoughts that were going threw his head as he slung his belongings over his shoulder and started walking down the street.

through his broken shoes he felt every small pice of gravel on the soles if his feet as he walked away from the spot he had occupied for the last month.
