For the past three years, I haven't once stopped thinking about Minjae and Seungyeon. Are they happy? Did they look for me? Do they miss me?
To ensure I wouldn't run into them easily, I quit school and moved to another state. I got a full time job waitressing and started from scratch. I can't say I've been happy, but I haven't exactly been unhappy either.
"Y/n is that you?"
Although I haven't heard either of their voices for some time, I recognized Minjae's clear as day.
I slowly turned around to face her. She looked exactly the same, other than the fact she had grown out her hair and it was now a dark brown instead of dirty blonde.
"Y-yeah it's me." I stuttered.
Minjae ran up to me and engulfed me in a hug which I didn't return. I was still stunned as to how she had found me.
She pulled away and rested her hands on my shoulders, looking me over. "Why... I have so many questions."
"Answer one of mine first. What are you doing here?" I demanded, crossing my arms and backing away from her.
She gaze fell to the floor. "My grandmother... she passed away. My family and I came for the funeral." Minjae said in a muffled voice.
All my anger and resentment vanished. She was hurting and I had made it worse. I guided her to a booth and sat down across from her. "I'm sorry Minjae, I really am."
She offered a weak smile. "So, how have you been?"
"Good, I guess."
I was greatful for her calmness of the situation, I had expected her to lash out and demand answers.
"Can you tell me... why you left?"
"I just needed a change of scenery." I responded, choosing my words carefully.
She nodded. I knew for a fact Minjae didn't believe me. She was never the brightest, but she always knew when I was lying.
We sat in an awkward silence for a few moments before I asked the question I'd been itching to ask. "How's Seungyeon?"
"He's good. Actually, I have some news." She paused before breaking out in a smile. "We're engaged."
I felt my heart drop. For three years I had held out hope that they had broken up. I built walls to prevent myself from falling apart, but they dissapeared at those two words.
I gulped. "T-that's... that's great."
"And I know a lot has happened but it would mean a lot, to Seungyeon and I, if you came to the wedding." Minjae slid a card from her purse over to me. "It's 4 months from now, June 12. I hope you can come."
I forced a smile and accepted the card. "I'll think about it."
"Thank you."
Minjae stood up and stretched. "I have to go, it was really nice seeing you again y/n."
"You too."
For the first since I left, my heart ached to go back.
"I missed you a lot you know, Seungyeon too. It's different without you." She frowned, opening the door. "Please come back."
"I don't know if I can."
She nodded and walked out the door and into the night.
I looked at the card in my hand.
Kim Minjae and Cho Seungyeon request the honor of your presence at their marriage.
I ripped the card to pieces and let the paper fall to the floor.
There was no way in hell I was going to that wedding.

I raced towards the great church doors. It was starting and I was late. I could hear soft music playing and people singing from outside. I hoped I hadn't missed anything too important.
I quietly slipped inside and stood at the back as all the seats were taken. Minjae was already at the altar along with Seungyeon.
They placed the rings on eachothers fingers and the priest asked if there was any reason why they shouldn't be married.
4 months ago, I would've raised my hand but not anymore. I had managed to find peace and even be happy for them.
Seungyeon looked at the crowd of people who had came to watch him get married. His eyes landed on me and he whispered something in Minjae's ear. She spotted me as well, both smiled brightly at me.
I waved and gave them a thumbs up. For the first time in many years, I happy.
During the reception, everyone told stories and jokes, mostly about the bride and groom. I even shared some of my own.
"Y/n stop embarrassing me!" Seungyoun shouted. "Minjae will hear you!"
Everyone laughed including myself. "Well that would be a problem if she didn't already know." I replied grinning.
"Wait you told her about that!" He responded turning bright red.
"Maybe."
"Y/n I'm gonna kill you!" Seungyoun yelled jokingly.
"You can try." I teased.
Oh how I missed this.
When it came time for the dance I sat alone and watch my friends twirl around the dance floor. More and more couples joined in and floor was almost full.
"You still owe me a dance."
I smiled.
Sungjoo. He was someone I hadn't seen in a long time.
I took Sungjoo's outstretched hand and he lead me to an empty spot.
"It's been a while y/n." Sungjoo said, taking my hand in his.
"That is has."
"I'm glad you came back." Sungjoo admitted, spinning me in a circle.
"Me too."

-Due to people asking if there would be a part 2, I made one. I hope you liked it and I'm sorry if it didn't live up to your expectations. I realize it says Seungyeon and you're not with him but he's the man guy. I leave the rest of the story up to you. Does she end up with Sungjoo? Who knows.
