I looked at my reflection in the mirror frowning slightly, I wasn't disappointed with my outfit. But I was pretty self conscious about my body, any other person would say I was fine and melodramatic.
I valued one's opinion, but that didn't mean squat to me at all. I could point out everything that I knew about myself, it was flaws. Meanwhile everyone else tried to pity your self hate, but it wasn't that to me. I just looked at the things I felt like needed work, there was nothing wrong for doing that.
After one last curl of my hair, I leaned forward to spray one last time. Making sure they were holding, I wasn't dressed up for the occasion. But god forbid if I walked out this house in regular sweats, Mckenzie would never let me.
Erica, however would party with me no matter how I looked. It wasn't about letting look bad as a friend, she just let me be comfortable. She knew when to interfere and when to let me do me.
She did however let me go on a more natural look with my make up, and I was forever grateful. I didn't feel like being swallowed up in contour and bronzer. I glanced down at my outfit and was happy with my choice, it was a gun's n roses t-shirt with the bottom tucked away in high waisted jeans and black booties.
It was a look I'd wear on a regular basis, I grabbed a blazer to make it look a tad more appropriate. It was the exact first fight of the season, which meant some elites would be there. I didn't care but apparently it was a big deal, it was certainly not a place for wearing dresses.
Once I was done, I walked out and headed down towards the car not before locking the door. I turned around and held a breath once my 'neighbor' opened it, walking out and locking his at the same time.
"Oh, hello." He gave me a warm smile, I almost lost it realizing he was one of the guys at the diner. He didn't seem surprised to see me at all, but more amused than anything.
He never really spoke that night, he observed more than anything. I guess that is what made me slightly relaxed, especially from the fact he seemed to have such a soft tune to his voice. If anything I thought he would be slightly more rugged and a huge prick, but he was nice.
"Hi." I gave a smile back, walking around him to head down the stairs.
He walked behind me slowly, I could hear the sound of his boots echoing slowly. It was like he had all the time in the world, nothing was going to make him rush and I envied that so much.
"I didn't know you were my neighbor, how's it going?" His accent really stood out, letting me know he wasn't originally from the states.
"It's going okay." I mumbled, I held the door open as he walked through. I closed it shut, adjusting my bag and walking off.
"Thanks." He said before flipping over a packet over cigarettes, placing one in his mouth. "Fancy a smoke?" He held the box out for me as I turned, looking at him.
"No thanks." I shook my head politely, walking down the path and heading to the car. I got in the passenger seat, closing the door behind me.
"Gosh, he is so fine." Erica commented before pulling off, she turned on the radio humming along.
"Aren't you involved with Brand-okay never mind." I stopped mid sentence once she gave me the biggest death glare, I laughed as she turned back. "Someone's angry with him."
She flipped the bird before continue driving, about twenty minutes laters we were outside a abandon road. I looked around, seeing nothing but allies and old burned down buildings.
"It doesn't look like there is some big fighting event." I looked over at her, she was turning off the ignition. "Are you sure this is it?"
"Positive." She gave one word before sliding out, slamming her side shut. Mckenzie did the same thing in the back, making me follow the lead.
