Bard x Reader: Never Again

Hello! So here is the another one I promised to you :3 Okay so please enjoy!

Third person P.O.V

The town was in the flames. You watched in horror as the flames climbed more and more of the town. People were screaming and running through the town trying to get out of here. But not you. You were looking at the tower. Bard was there, you can't leave him.

So many mixed thoughts run in your head you didn't know what to do. He had told you everything would be okay but still you feared too much for him. Before he left he told you to leave the town, but how could you when the man you have always loved is fighting against such powerful beast.

~ FLASHBACK ~

Your P.O.V

*CRASH* "What's happening?" I looked at Bard who was now cursing under his breath. "Smaug is destroying the Lake Town." I looked at him shocked.
We were at Bard's home looking after the dwarves. When loud screams and big crashes started outside.

"(Y/n)! Please I need you to do this! Take Sigrid and Tilda with you, and go. As far as you can get from Lake Town." He looked into my eyes with really serious look.

"But what about you and Bain?! I can't just leave you!" Bard looked at me sadly. "You have to get the girls safe." He turned around and was about to leave the house. "Bard!" I shouted, feeling how tears tried to fight their way to my eyes. "Promise me you come back!" He turned to look at me and walked over. He pressed his forehead to mine. "I promise."

"Girls pack everything you really need. You have to be able to carry the stuff you pack. Maybe even for a long time." When Sigrid and Tilda were ready I left the house with them. Still taking last look at it. "Okay girls we have to keep moving!" I tried not to think about Bard and Bain. I had to get girls somewhere safe.

"Sigrid! Take Tilda and boat. I can't leave your father and brother." She looked at me little worriedly first but then smiled. "I'm really happy you found our father. Even if he doesn't know your secret." I blushed and watched as the girls got on a boat.

I really hope they're going to be okay.

~ FLASHBACK ENDS ~

Third person P.O.V

You looked as smaug crawled towards the tower where Bard and Bain where. You didn't want to watch but at the same time you couldn't take your eyes off of them. Then you saw it, he hit the beast with the black arrow. But then you saw how Smaug smashed the tower to the ground. "Nooooo!"

Tears streaming down your face, you ran towards the fallen tower. You didn't even care about the flames around you. All you could think of was Bard and Bain and that how much you wanted them to be alive and alright. When you reached the tower there was no signs of any kind of living things.

All the worry you carried was taking your attention away from your surroundings so that you didn't notice your lack of oxygen. You felt how you started to fall. You were pretty sure you heard someone shouting your name right before the world went black.

You woke up in a place you didn't recognize. It was some sort of tent but you had no idea how you got there. You tried to get up but really rough pain went through your head. "Oh god! What happened?" You just lied on the bed. Trying to figure out what to do when Sigrid came into the tent.

"Oh you're awake! How are you feeling (Y/n)?" You smiled to her. "I'm fine thanks." Then you remembered. "Have you heard anything about Bard or Bain?!" She smiled at you. "Yes they are both alright and actually my Father was the one to bring you here." You blushed at the thought of being carried here by the man you loved so dearly. Even thought he didn't know about your feelings.

"Thank you Sigrid. Could you possibly ask your father come here for a little bit?" She nodded and left the tent. You couldn't believe that everything was okay now. Or well as okay as in a situation where whole town was burned to the ground can be. You noticed yourself getting little nervous by the passing seconds that turned into minutes.

As time passed you realized you never want to be in situation where you couldn't have the chance to tell the one you truly love, that you love them. So you decided to tell him.

You were so into your own thoughts you didn't notice the man standing at the tents doorway. "You asked to see me." You jumped little but relaxed when you noticed it was Bard. "Yes I did. I heard you saved me. So I wanted to say thank you." Bard didn't say anything. He just started to walk towards you. You felt how your cheeks grew hotter little by little. "Why didn't you listen to me?" His voice was bit sad. "I could have lost you!" You looked at your hands. "Well that is exactly why I stayed. I feared I would lose you." Bard went silent for little while.

Then he took your face into his hand and lifted your face up so that you were looking at him right now. "Never ever again, do something so stupid... I'm begging you... I don't wanna lose you." You looked into each others eyes and then started to lean in for a kiss. The kiss was really gentle and loving.

"Bard... I love you... and that was why I couldn't leave you. That's why I started to walk towards the tower where you two were." Bard looked into your eyes and smiled.

"And for the same reason I told you to leave the town with girls. I love you too (Y/n). From the moment I found you. I have loved you and I think that it's going to last for the rest of my life."

And so you two never again did anything stupid. Except for the ones you love.
