Merry x Reader: Next To You.

Hello! So this one is right after the war. Don't know what else to say :D okay please enjoy!

Third person P.O.V

The war had just ended. There were bodies everywhere. Humans and elves. Women and children were running and crying on the streets. Looking for their loved ones. You, a hobbit of shire, were looking for familiar faces and hoping at the same time that you wouldn't find any from the fallen soldiers.

You were part of the fellowship and you had been with Merry the whole time. But when the war started and the men of rohan went to fight you, being a hobbit and woman, were not allowed to come. And that was when you got separated from Merry.

You feared for him, of course you did. He was your friend, and maybe something bit more too. You held little crush for the hobbit but didn't want to tell him. You were too scared and didn't want to be rejected. And if so were to happen you two wouldn't be the same anymore. It would become awkward and that was something you really didn't want to happen.

Your P.O.V

I was looking for anyone from the fellowship. I know none of them knew I was here. But I still needed to know. I was looking around me when I spotted one red headed dwarf and blond elf.

I started to run to them and jumped to hug Gimli. "Thank god you're alive! Both of you!" They looked at me like I was back from the dead.

"(Y/n)... what are you doing here?" I looked up to Legolas. "Well looking for you guys, I thought that was obvious!" Gimli smirked at the comment but then got serious again. "No but seriously, lass why are you here at the battle field?" I smiled nervously. "Well I might have taken a part in the war... by stealing a pony and pretending to be a man." They both just stared at me. Suddenly they both burst into laugh and I just looked at them. "What? You're not mad at me?" Gimli fell to the ground and Legolas wipes tears from his eyes. "Of course we are you could have died, but it's just that you're so stubborn and determined you could be a dwarf."

I looked at the two and shook my head. "Sometimes I just don't understand you guys." I looked around and saw Aragorn walking this way. 'Oh crap..' I started to back away. "You know guys... I think i'm gonna go see if I can find Merry and Pippin. See you later!" I started to run but didn't get far when someone scooped me up to their shoulder.

"And where do you think you're going without explaining why you're here." I sighed. "Aragorn i'm sorry but I really needed to see you're all okay! And do you really expect me to just wait, while you guys are almost throwing your lives away?! No, not happening!" He sighed and let me down.

"I'm not mad because you didn't obey my orders. I'm just scared that I could have lost you." And here we go again. This time it was my turn to sigh. "I know, but that is exactly the reason why I came here. I got scared for you guys." There were tears in my eyes.
Somehow Aragorn and I became really close during this quest. He is kind of like the big brother I never had.

"Aragorn where is Pippin and Merry?" I really want to see them. Aragorn knew about my crush for Merry so he didn't even start kidding to me about those two.

He lead me to where Gandalf and Pippin were. When I first saw him, tears started to stream down my face. I started to run. "PIPPIN!!" He turned around and saw me. He opened his arms and I jumped into them. "I'm so clad you're okay!!" Pippin was bit shocked that you were there. "(Y/n)!! Why are you here?! Are you okay?!" His grip around me tightened. "I came to see you and Merry, and yes I am alright now that I know you are okay... By the way... where is he?"

I started to look around, Gandalf had left and you were alone with Pippin.
I saw Pippins face go pale. 'Oh no... is he... he's not.. please say he's not.' Tears were streaming down my face. "Pippin! Tell me he's alright!" Pippin didn't look into my eyes. "We don't know yet... we haven't found him. Not yet at least."
Pippin hugged me again. "It's gonna be alright! I promise you we'll go and find him. We will find him."

Third person P.O.V

You two were looking through the battle field. Trying to find anything that would lead you to Merry. You shouted his name hoping that he would answer, you asked from others if they had seen him. You were going to move on when Pippin called for you. "(Y/n)!!! Here!!"

You ran where Pippin was. You looked at shocked Pippin and noticed that he had something in his hands. "No, oh no, no, no, no.... tell me that's not his." Pippin had Merry's cape in his hands. "(Y/n)... I promised you and I do intent to keep my promise!" You nodded and continued looking for him.

While you were walking through the battle field you looked for anything that would have given you clue where Merry could be.

"(Y/n)!!! I found him!!" You ran to where Pippin was and you saw Merry lying on the ground. "Oh my god!!! MERRY!!! Are you okay?!?!? Does it hurt anywhere?" Merry looked at you two for little while. "What happened?" You looked at him, tears in your eyes ones again. "We won!" Pippin smiled at Merry. "What now?" I touched his cheek with the back of my hand. "We're gonna take care of you."

Your P.O.V

We carried Merry to get some treatment. I didn't leave his side for ones as I watched him sleep. He looked so peaceful, he was so silent it was kind of weird. I started to stroke his hair. As I waited for him to wake up.

"(Y/n)... is it really you?" Your eyes widened. "Yes.. it is me... How are you feeling?" He opened his eyes and looked at me with really sleepy expression. "Better now that i saw beautiful lady as the first thing when I woke up." I blushed really deeply and he chuckled little. "Well I wouldn't mind waking up next to handsome man ether." This time i giggled and he blushed. For little while it was comfortable silence between the two of us.

Third person P.O.V

"Did you really mean it?" You looked up to see him staring at you. "Did I mean what?" He looked into your eyes. "Well that you wouldn't mind waking up next to me?" You blushed. "Well technically... I didn't say that next to you..." He chuckled bit embarrassed. "But I did mean it thought." He looked up to your eyes again.

"Really?" You nodded blushing really deeply. He got up and took your face to his hands. "Because I would give anything so that I could wake up next to you every morning." You two started to lean in until your lips touched. It was gentle and loving kiss, but still full of need. Need to prove that the other wouldn't leave.

You two broke the kiss and looked into each others eyes. "You have no idea how long I have wanted to do that." You smiled to Merry. "Oh.. I think I do!" You jumped on him on the bed and kissed him more hungrily.
After the kiss you two just stayed in the bed snuggling next to each other. Kissing from time to time.
