74. Caught Red-Handed: Write about being caught doing something embarrassing.
Cosmis Brownie Stealer
This is where I start with a sigh and a pained expression and tell of how wierd I am.
I think we have it firmly established that I enjoy a good meal. Or several. I am a foodie, in every sense of the word. Unfortunately, it is not always so simple to eat a pound of chocolate a day.
I am one of those unfortunate beings that gets cavities with annoying ease. As such, my mother never allowed me to have sugar.
I was that little girl that totally and shamelessly stole cookies from the cookie jar. I wanted those sweets, gosh dang it, and I was willing to go to extreme lengths to do it.
There was one incident that sticks around as an embarrassing memory, though. Probably because my brother memorialized it as a Facebook page.
The Cosmic brownie. I think those are a Little Debbie product, and to be honest, I wasn't really that smitten with them, but as a young girl I was desperate and had low standards -- much like I am now. Regardless of whether I thought it tasted good or not, I took a Cosmic brownie and started to walk upstairs. But those darned brownies have plastic wrappers that made way too much noise.
My brother, who throughout our younger years was always trying to get me in some sort of trouble, and was the most accomplished tattletale that every tattled a tale, heard it and reported me. The brownie was taken, I was put in timeout (I spent a lot of time there), and my cravings went unsatisfied.
It would have been forgotten in the deluge of other misdemeanors I committed over the years, if not for the Facebook page. That's right, there is a Facebook page, created by my darling brother, devoted to my stealing of a Cosmic brownie. The worst part? My crush joined it.
