Your POV
You watched Alex and his girlfriend laugh happily together. He was your best friend and you were glad he was happy but at the same time you were bitter. You wanted Alex, you've had a thing for him for such a long time but he never realized it. You sat back and watched as he kissed her the way you wished he would kiss you. A frown began to form as you watched him whisper in her ear making her laugh.
"Are you okay?" David asked as he noticed how sad and distraught you looked
"Yeah...yeah I'm fine" You muttered
David nodded uncertain that you were telling him the truth. Your fingers now tangled in the loose thread of your shirt as you looked down with a sigh. You were trying to shake your thoughts but you just couldn't, the pain was there and it wouldn't leave.
"Y/N" David said "Please talk to me"
"David I'm fine don't worry about me" You said "Go film for your vlog"
David gave you one last look until reluctantly leaving as you lightly judged him forward. You made your way to the kitchen,where nobody was thankfully, and began to make yourself something to drink. Alex noticed how distant you were once he finally was able to get his attention off his girlfriend. He walked inside and spotted you standing there glumly sipping on your drink.
"Hey Y/N, why aren't you outside with everyone?" Alex asked
"I don't know" You answered putting your drink down "I think I'm just gonna go home"
Alex looked at you extremely confused as you collected your belongings and made your way to the door. He followed behind you and placed his hand on the door to prevent you from leaving.
"What's wrong?" Alex asked demanding answers
"Nothing Alex, go back to your girlfriend" You bitterly snapped at him
"What's your deal with Emily?" Alex asked
"Nothing Alex" You sighed trying to leave but he once again closed the door
"What's wrong with you? You've been so weird lately I don't get it" Alex angrily said
"I'm sorry that I'm upset my best friend is a fucking moron and can't see that I am hopelessly in love with him! I'm sorry that I can't stick around to watch you all over her because it hurts Alex" You screamed "I'm sorry that I'm bitter about this, I'm happy for you Alex I really am but I can't stay to watch this any longer"
He was stunned by your words as you stood there with hot tears falling from your eyes, chest heaving up and down as you intently gazed at him. Alex tried to form words but nothing came out making you laugh coldly.
"Goodbye Alex" You sadly said "I'm sorry if I ruined your night"
"Y/N don't go just wait" Alex pleaded but it was too late you were halfway down the driveway already in your car.
Alex ran out after you but you were already gone. His chest aches as he realized that he had caused you this much pain. He didn't know that you had felt the same way about him too. It was too late for him to say anything now, so he trudged back up the driveway and made his way in the house collecting himself before going back out to the backyard.
"Hey where'd you go?" Emily asked wrapping her arms around him
"Just to get a drink" Alex smiled making her nod and go back to talking with the others while Alex stood there his mind still on you.
