Your POV
Tears cascaded down your face as you ran through the crowd of civilians in the city, David was running behind you, attempting to get to you before it was too late. Your heart raced as you pushed yourself to run faster, the sounds of your heavy breathing filling your head. David was growing frustrated as he was unable to reach you.
"Y/N" He yelled"Please, wait!"
You didn't look back at the pleading boy once as you ran through an alley and began climbing the fence so you could get to the other side but David was quick and pulled you down. Due to you fighting him on that, the two of you tumbled to the wet ground. The gravel beneath your fingers puncturing you. You kept crying loudly as David held you to him.
"Are you stupid?" He spat "What were you thinking? You could've gotten hurt"
"You hurt me" You sobbed pushing at his chest weakly "You love her! You love her"
"No I don't!" David said "Do you think if I loved her I would be sitting here with you? Do you think I would run through a whole city to get to you?"
You stared down at your hands, the images of David and that blonde girl flirting in front of you, her boney fingers slowly dragging down David's chest as she smiled at him as if he were a piece of meat. Your stomach clenched as you replayed the images of her kissing him in your mind. David didn't even fight it, he just sat there.
"You let her kiss you" You whispered, broken.
"I'm sorry" He frowned taking your hand in his "I'm sorry that I let it happen"
You wordlessly pulled your hand from his as you turned away from him and began to walk once more, with each step you took the ache in your heart grew. David felt his heart squeeze painfully as he watched you walk away.
"Wait" He called out once more "Please don't go"
"David I can't stay knowing that you kissed her" You weakly said
He forcefully pulled you back into his chest and let out a small hiccup as the tears fell from his eyes, his lips trembled as he stared at you utterly lost.
"I can't be without you" He whispered "I love you so much Y/N please"
In your heart you knew that he was being sincere that he did love you, but your mind fought against everything and told you to keep going even if it meant leaving David behind. Your lips brushed against David's, his lips so intoxicatingly sweet that you had to press your own against them.
"Promise you won't do it again"
"I promise" He murmured holding you in a tight embrace "I'm sorry for ever hurting you"
You held him back just as tight and prayed that you had made the right decision by staying with him. David was the love of your life and you'd wait around for him regardless of the time. He was yours and you were his, you just hoped you made the right choice.
