Yesterday I downloaded DDC and decided to do something that I've never done in any of the other touhou games I've played
I didn't 1cc it on Easy first. I went straight to Lunatic
And lemme just say: FUCK.
Anyway, stage one is actually pretty hard. Much harder than stage two in my opinion. I'm saying this dead serious, no joke: Cirno is actually kinda hard. She may be a stage one midboss, but holy hell I've died to her and her ridiculous spell a lot. Waka is really hard too, actually. Mostly because I'm not too good at those annoying spells that go everywhere in a bunch of different directions
Sekibanki is much easier than Waka is, or maybe she's not and I'm just better at those "chasing" spells. I can actually get by that stage fairly easily.
Kagerou is impossible. Nothing else to it. BITCH HOW TO FUCK DO YOU EVEN DODGE THAT MIDSTAGE SPELLCARD BOI IT IS LITERALLY A GIANT MASS OF IMPOSSIBLY CLOSE GIANT BULLETS MOVING IN A BUNCH OF DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS HOW-
Yatsuhashi always kills me. I bomb through 90% of her spells because tight spaces are not my thing.

I haven't even seen Shinmyoumaru's fight because Seija exists and just no
ZUN. Why. Why control flipping? Why would you ever do that to a person? On the other hand, ZUN was a bit merciful with it. The spellcards themselves are pretty easy, it's trying to navigate that makes it so difficult. Your hand-eye coordination gets fucked up and your muscle memory gets confused and when you panic you end up moving the wrong way.
DDC probably has some of the most creative spell cards and I've always loved it's characters and soundtrack.
