well, this is the last part of this! I think I've said this in like the past five things I've published but school is kicking my ass and I've been preparing for two volleyball tournaments. buut, after this is finished I'm either making a fanfic or updating the anime oneshots or both. so I'm looking forward to that and I hope you guys are too. I've finally reached my limit with Attack on Titan 😅

and on a completely different note, how do all these other authors write 500-600 word oneshots/chapters???? each one I write now is like 1300 or something at minimum.

"ohhhh, Marco look. (y/n) is with Reiner again." I rolled my eyes as we passed Jean and his whispering, as well as Marco and the slight disapproving look he gave me. it was discouraging that he didn't like me being with Reiner, but that didn't mean he was going to tear me away from him or anything like that. I would just never be able to talk to him without a "but back to you and Reiner" in the conversation.

Reiner's hand tightened around mine and I guessed he'd seen the face I had made at Marco's disapproval. I looked up at him and smiled as we finally walked into the building.

"you don't have to be so upset over Marco, he's just being an older brother. he'll have to get over it at some point because we're going to be together for a while." I tried my best to get the unreadable expression off Reiner's face with reassurance, but it wasn't working.

"it's not getting to me, I'm more worried about you. weren't you super close to him? and now because you're with me..." Reiner was right. Marco was basically my best friend for 15 years of my life, and he's almost thrown it away in favor of being possessive over his kid sister. even so, I waved it off and smiled once again.

"we're fine. you're fine. the only way we or you won't be fine is if you try to leave. so, all you have to do is stay with me forever until Marco comes around. then we'll be together after that too, okay?" Reiner nodded his head, one of his familiar smiles brightening his face as he brought his free hand up and ruffled my hair.

"I hope that's not a threat. I would hate for my (y/n) to be mad at me." the smile he wore tugged at his facial features in a slightly different way now, him smirking at me.

"it's less of a threat than what would happen if you left me and made me cry. Marco would raise his own version of hell." we laughed our way down the hallway, throwing jabs back and forth at each other like we normally did.

•Marco's pov•

"I know I'm being stubborn but... I'm supposed to be taking care of her and now someone else is..." (y/n) is my sweet little sister and watching her grow into herself was something I anticipated, but that didn't mean it was going to be a pleasant ride for myself.

"jeez, Marco. let (y/n) enjoy being with someone else other than you. it's not like she's going to leave." Jean strode in front of me to walk into the building, giving "advice" on how I should deal with (y/n) and Reiner.

"please don't give me that scenario." Jean laughed loudly as we made our way down the hall into the cafeteria. the first thing I saw when we walked in was (y/n) and Reiner, and I felt the need to go over there when I spotted the arm around her waist. of course I shouldn't go over there because I can disapprove their relationship from a distance...

but I also can't help myself when I get up and make my way over to them, ignoring Jean's harsh whispers to come back.

"(y/n)." she looked up at me, the smile on her face fell slightly and it hurt to see her stiffen as well.

"aren't you a little too close to Reiner?" I smiled at her, and thanked whatever god suddenly appeared that the whole cafeteria wasn't watching us. Reiner went to take his hand away from her waist, but (y/n) pulled it back and her puffed her cheeks out. just like when she was little...

"what? is Reiner showing how much he loves me a crime now?" Reiner sat up straighter, and I sighed.

"no, I'm just saying that—"

"Reiner isn't going to take his hand off me and I'm not moving. so if you're done, your puppy is waiting for you to come back with his tail wagging." she pointed at Jean behind me, and I didn't say anything else as I walked back to my own table.

"Marco, you can't be making that melancholy face like that. it makes me think you're jealous of Reiner's love for (y/n)."

"Jean." he chuckled under his breath as he sat down, going on about something that had happened with Eren today. I was listening, but my mind drifted off to my peripheral vision as I also listened to (y/n) laugh.

"can you believe him?! I swear sometimes I want to—Reiner? what's wrong?" I felt slight deja vu as I looked up at Reiner as he walked me down to my barracks.

"I think I just made that worse..."

"aw come on, Reiner! I keep telling you, you're not doing any harm to my family relationship, Marco is. he doesn't want to acknowledge that he has to hand his little sister off at some point."

"that's basically the same thing I just said." I groaned and stopped as Reiner kept walking, taking a deep breath before walking up behind him and hitting his shoulder. he stuttered forward before facing me with a confused, but slightly amused expression. I cross my arms and wait for him to say what I'm trying to get across.

"fine, I get it. I'll just have to show him he's handing off his sister to someone capable right?" I smile and hug him, reveling in the feeling of him hugging me back.

"Marco's giving me to a damn good looking man, too. if I say so myself." I laughed at Reiner's comment, pulling away from the hug to lean up and quickly kiss him.

"you're too full of yourself." he smirked at me,
picking me up and carrying me over his shoulder down the hallway as I continued to laugh. looking back down the hallway, I could see Marco standing there, and unlike other times, he had a smile on his face as he looked at us leave. that alone made me feel more confident in Reiner.
