Guardians - Marco x Reader

YOUR POV

"I feel bad for him. " I looked down from the roof where Marco and I sat, looking down at Jean.

"I do too, but we can't do anything about it. "

"I even broke his heart too..." I sighed as I felt more weight on my shoulders than ever at that thought. Marco and I had a secret relationship for a while and Jean had a crush on me. I knew this, but I didn't want to hurt him. He happened to walk in on us kissing and he wouldn't even let me say sorry to him.

"You're crying again," Marco said with a concerned tone as I realized that I had a few tears staining my pants.

"Sorry..." I wiped them away and continued to monitor Jean. He was close to getting eaten by a titan, so I quickly shot off and pushed him out of the way. As quick as I was there, I was gone. Marco said nothing as it was second nature for me to be protecting Jean.

"He'll see us." I scoffed at him.

"Yeah right. You can't see something that isn't even alive. It's odd though. I shouldn't be able to touch him. I can't touch anyone else. " I started thinking about that and it felt like everything went silent. I can't touch any of my friends or people I've known except Jean and Marco. I can also touch other objects.

Yes, we were dead, but unlike most people say you can't float when you die. We just happened to die with our 3d gear so we appear with it on. And it's functional. It's obviously not fun being dead, but at least we didn't appear as we died. I would've been just half a body as would Marco.

"Come on, before he gets into something serious. " Marco grabbed my hand before I could go anywhere.

"Let's just stay here. Jean can take care of himself for a while. " He smiled up at me and I sighed. I can't say no to him. I sat back down crossed legged next to him. He still had my hand in his grip and I moved our hands so our fingers were intertwined. We were both smiling like idiots at each other.

TIMESKIP

"OH REALLY? WANT ME TO HELP YOU WITH THAT?" Here they go again. Eren and Jean were fighting again. This time, shoving food down each other's throats. Literally. I sat on a beam on the ceiling with Marco as we looked down on them.

"Should we help him?" Marco sounded worried. I sighed and jumped down. I stood in front of Jean, he obviously couldn't see me, and Eren threw a knife, to which I grabbed a plate and barely saved my own face. Then I realized, the others can't see me. There is a plate with a knife through it out the person holding it is basically nonexistent. I dropped the plate and climbed back up to Marco.

"Are we going to have to do this forever?" I sounded annoyed, but it's fun getting to help him without knowing.

"Probably. At least you stopped them from fighting. " He was always worried about others. One of the many reasons I love him.

"We should go, I wanna sleep. " I jumped back down again and Marco followed. Before we left the cafeteria, I tripped Eren. I think he realized it was me. We used to do this to each other all the time and I did it the same way each time. By pulling him by his neck to the floor. But since I can't touch anyone else, I had throw a plate at his stomach and he fell. Again, he was scared and so was everyone else because I plate flew towards someone without 'anyone touching' it.

Marco stood shaking his head at my childish antics and I just smiled at him. He turned to walk and I jumped on his back which caught him off guard, but he held us both up. For payback, he started running and I held on for my dear life.

"I hate you sometimes. "I muttered after he stopped running and had put me down.

"And the rest of the time?" He teased. I turned my head away from him.

"I love you with everything I have. " I muttered even lower and he smiled at me again. I pecked his lips and turned away again, causing his smile to get even bigger. He came up and hugged me and I couldn't help but hug back. I also couldn't help but flick his nose, which got the cutest reaction.
