You woke up to the ringing of your alarm. Your face was flushed and you were feeling hot. Not the way to start the morning.

The thermometer was located next to your bed so you got it and stuck in under your armpits. After a while, it started beeping. You checked your temperature, 39 degrees celsius.

You relaxed your arm and let it hang on the side of your bed while the other was on your forehead.

'And it's his birthday today..' You thought and rolled to your side.

After staying in bed for 10 minutes, you groggily sat up. You went straight to the kitchen and ate a small cookie and drank medicine.

On the table was 4 cupcakes for Karma which you baked last night. It's his birthday today. You went back to your bedroom to change into your uniform.

The medicine was finally kicking in but you still felt warm and weak.

You went back to the kitchen and packed the cupcakes and headed out of your house.

"Ohayou~ (F/N)-chan!" A cheery voice greeted you.

"Oh, Kayano-chan!" You tried to sound like yourself, "Good morning!"

You turned back to looking ahead, still smiling, then Kayano put her hand on your forehead.

She gasped, "(F/N)-chan, you're burning!"

You laughed, "You darn right I am. I'm burning hot!"

She stared at you and sighed, "You should go back home and rest."

You puffed your cheeks, "No."

She stared at you. Her expression full of surprise. You weren't the type to push yourself too hard unless...

She grinned, "Is it because today is Karma-kun's birthday?"

You felt your temperature rise to the point where you would feel steam come out of your ears.

"E-E-Eh?! It's his birth- Ahh!! I had no idea!!!" You said, looking around.

She giggled, "I know you knew, (F/N)-chan. And if that's the case, I'll let you do what needs to be done. But if your fever gets worse, I'm telling Koro-sensei."

"Are you my mom or something?" You asked.

It was lunch break. You were sitting under a tree, a bit far from the class, with the cupcakes and your lunch on your lap.

'I wonder why it's so warm..' You thought, 'It may be noon but the weather doesn't feel like how it should be during December..'

Thinking about how you would greet Karma and give him the cupcakes seemed to make your fever worst.

You sighed and rested your head on the tree. Feeling sleepy, you let your eyes close.

"Eh~? Is (L/N)-chan sleeping?" You heard a voice, which made you not get any sleep at all. And you instantly recognized that it belonged to Karma.

"Go away." You said and leaned to your side as for him to not see your face.

"Is that how you treat the birthday boy?" He asked.

His eyes landed on the cupcakes on your lap, "Is that for me?" He asked and bent down to get it.

"Yes, yes." You replied with tiredness obvious in your tone, "Now hurry and shove it in your mouth and tell me its good or I'll eat it myself."

He grinned, "You baked this for me?"

Your face heated up more, "A-Are you stupid? I baked too much last night but wasn't able to eat all of it. Then I remembered that it was your birthday today so I decided to bring you some. Don't get the wrong idea, you idiot!! So shut up and eat it."

"You don't have to be such a tsun-tsun." He chuckled and got the cupcakes.

He took a bite and you still had your head turned to the other side, "Not bad."

He brought the cupcake that he just bit closer to your face, "Here, taste some. It might make you feel better knowing that I took a bite from this one."

"Idiot... be honored and.. finish.. the goddamn.. cup-" You turned to push the cupcake away, but almost collapsed.

You fell on his body. You're face heated up more.

He helped you sit up and brought his hand to your forehead, "Oi," He said in a serious but gentle tone, "We've got to get you home."

You sighed, "Yeah. But I don't need help from you." You tried to stand up, supporting yourself using the tree.

Before you could collapse again, you felt your arm being wrapped around Karma's shoulder, "Now's not the time to be acting tough."

"I.. don't need help from an idiot," You said and tried to move on your own.

"I'll kiss you."

You stopped and let him fix you on his back, giving you a piggy back ride.

"Baka.." You whispered.

Kayano came running to you, "(F/N)-chaaaaan!! Guess what!"

She saw you and Karma and blushed, "O-Okay!! See yaaa!" She turned to run back.

"Kayano-chan." Karma called.

She turned back, "Yeah?"

"Tell Koro-sensei I'll be bring home (L/N)-chan because she's sick." He said.

Kayano smiled, "Roger." She turned back and headed back to the classroom.

He began walking. You rested your head on his shoulder, almost forgetting to say something.

"Karma." You said, weakly.

He looked up, still walking, "What?"

"Happy Birthday." You said before you drifted of to sleep.

"Thanks." He smiled and the color pink was seen across his cheeks.

Should I have saved this for his actual birthday? Well, at least it turned out nicely.
