|7.| Summer Festival- Isogai Yūma X Mute!Reader

"Welcome to Class E, (L/N)-san!" Isogai approched you. You smiled at him.

"If you need anything, you can approach me." Isogai said, "I'm the class rep after all."

You replied with a nod, and with that he left.

"Wanna eat lunch with us, (L/N)-chan?" Kayano asked you. You beamed and nodded.

"Great!!" She exclaimed. As you were eating lunch, Sugino asked you, "Hey, (L/N)-san, how come you don't speak? Are you too shy?"

You looked at him for a while, then got paper, "I chose not to speak." You smiled, and wrote again, "My mom said that I have a horrid voice and she hates it." You showed them and wrote again, "Even my sister doesn't like it so..." You frowned and wrote again, "If it would make them happy from not hearing my voice, then I'd do it." You wrote again, "After a while, I tried speaking in my room, but it was hard for me."

You wrote again, "It would feel like my tongue would knot, or become numb."

Right now, you were living with your dad. Your mother made you live with him because both of you were 'worthless' to her. Despite being called that, your dad still managed to smile and continue to live on.

You looked at them and noticed that the whole class were listening too. The looks on their faces were sad, and you quickly wrote, "D-Don't mind it! I'm perfectly okay like this!"  You gave them a thumbs up.

You wrote something down again, "Come, let's continue eating!"

~After School~

You were in charge for cleaning the classroom for today, when Kayano approached you, "Want me to wait for you?"

You smiled and shook your head. "Okay then, see you tomorrow!" She said.

After cleaning, you went to throw the dirt from the dustpan, when somebody opened the door.

"You're still here?" Isogai asked. You just gave him a nod. He glanced at the dustpan, "Right, you're in charge of cleaning today. Since I'm done, want me to help you?"

You quickly shook your head. He gave you a smile which made your heart skip a beat, "Alright then. See you tomorrow (L/N)-san!"

After he had left, your heart was still beating fast. Maybe because other than your dad, he was able to give you a heartwarming smile.

~The Next Day!!~

"I heard there's going to be a summer festival held on Saturday."

"Really??"

"Yup. Let's all gooo!!

You opened the door and was greeted by good mornings. You smiled back at them. Then Nakamura approached you, "(L/N), wanna go to the summer festival?" She asked.

You replied with a big smile and nod. "Great!!" She said, "It's on Saturday at 6 pm. Don't be late!!" She said while returning to her seat.

You were so happy, usually people wouldn't invite you for summer festivals or gatherings, so this was a first.

You were going back home when you accidentally bumped into a group of delinquents.

You quickly bowed but they pulled your hair, "Hah?? I want an apology not you bowing to me." A guy said.
