God help me for writing this 💀✨
The last thing you expected after crash landing on a hostile alien planet was to entirely lose the Doctor. He'd been at your side the entire time, watching out for danger.
And yet in the blink of an eye, he'd disappeared like a ghost. Not a sign or trace of him even being by your side in the first place.
Bruised and shaken up from the crash landing of the TARDIS, you stumbled around for a few minutes panicking. Every call of the Doctor's name vanished into thin air. No response but an ominous clicking sound from the trees.
Dry leaves crunched underfoot as you made your way deeper into the cold forest. It felt... alive, somehow. As if it were watching you.
A cold breeze swept through the canopy, creeping over your skin in a rush, leaving goosebumps in its wake. You shivered slightly, thoroughly unnerved. You always felt safer with the Doctor.
Every other step, you heard a clicking sound from the trees. It sounded as though it were following you. Perhaps the forest was indeed alive, tracking your movements. Maybe it already snatched the Doctor away for a light snack.
The darkness seemed to close in on you as your thoughts became derailed. You couldn't think straight. You could barely breathe without it sounding like a boiling tea kettle.
Your only solace came in the form of a ragged breath, and the crunching of leaves underfoot. Someone else was here with you.
"Doctor!" You called out for him again, sucking in a sharp and panicked breath.
No response. But the breathing came harder, intermingled with pained groans and animalistic growls. Against your better judgement, you started to shuffle towards the noise, bumping tree roots with your feet.
Bushes with sharp twigs scraped at your arms as you walked blindly towards what could be your death. The cold air nipped at the back of your neck and sunk into your bones.
"Doctor," You whimpered his name this time, begging for him to help you. Begging for the terrifying sounds to be him figuring a way to escape.
Your shoulder bumped roughly into a tree suddenly, causing you to gasp in shock and stumble further into the darkness. Only to bump into something soft. Something moving.
"Doctor?" Reaching out, you felt around until your hand met the soft lump. It was the Doctor indeed, kneeling on the forest floor, chest heaving.
Falling to your knees beside him, you pulled out your phone from the back pocket of your jeans and turned on the flashlight. Cracked screen, but that was the least of your problems right now.
