(SPOILERS FOR IT: CHAPTER TWO, SO BEWARE)

You know it's a horrible idea to be here without Bill's permission. But he couldn't exactly stop you. You took your rented car across town, spotting Silver in the crowded parking lot, abandoned on the gravel.

The carnival is in full swing. After parking your car in a spot that was probably not an actual parking spot, you sprinted into the grounds and searched for any sign of your best friend.

You forgot just how loud carnivals were. You can barely hear yourself think amidst all the kids screaming from exhilaration and cheering as they win a prize.

The cacophony of the colourful carnival makes it even harder to detect any sign of Bill. You pass through crowds of families, pushing your way through haphazardly.

From a distance, you spot a dark blue flannel flapping in the wind as the form it hangs off of propels itself into the crowd. Making your way towards it, you apologise to several groups of kids as you almost trip over them in the process.

The closer you get to the person, the louder you hear a shouting voice.

"KID! WAIT!"

Sure enough, Bill's familiar form vanishes inside the fun-house. The woman in charge of letting people in is clearly shocked, and she doesn't have time to stop you from following him in.

You're met with a tumbling barrel, moving underneath your feet in an attempt to send you off balance. Luckily, the sound of Bill's echoing shouts further in the fun-house allow you to focus and stumble through it.

The second obstacle in your way is a set of swinging clowns hanging from the ceiling. They swing violently, and you narrowly avoid the first hitting you.

The third and fourth are swinging opposite directions, and you misjudge the timing, the fourth slamming into you. It disorientates you enough that you have to use the wall and drag yourself further into this hell.

A hall of glass walls greets you. Some sort of maze. The warped voice of Bill comes from somewhere deep in the maze. Stumbling towards it, you reach out with your hands to prevent yourself from running into any glass.

The lights begin to flicker. If you had been an epileptic, then this would have been a minefield. It strains your eyes as the lights continue to flash, bouncing off the glass.

"Bill!" You call out for him now, growing increasingly frustrated with your situation.

He hasn't called out in a while now. Your footwork is atrocious as you gain speed, fear accelerating your heart.

As you round a glass corner in complete darkness, you bump into something small and scream in shock. The small thing shrieks in response.

The lights flicker on, rapidly bouncing between on and off. It's a kid, and he stares up at you with an oddly blank stare.
