My feelings towards others, the apparent hatred at those closest to me was what terrified me the most. It felt grand though; I had finally used Gastly against Jack, but now my carnal attention was to the trainers right in front of me. Still aching for a chance to win this race so that I could continue to prove that point to him once more.

It was not over yet.

Misty and Brock were on their respective bicycles in front of me. Not even aware of my blood thirst or my presence at first. I was pedaling swiftly behind them both as they continued down the trail in their attempt to finish the race.

Misty turned back to see me coming up behind her and was almost elated at first, but her countenance grew quickly confused and rather concerned as she observed my rather dark and ominous grin about me.

"Leaf, is everything alright?" She asked.

"No." I responded with distaste.

"You are acting strange."

"Get out of my way! Lucy, Tackle!" I shouted for my Pokémon's attention.

This was the first time that I had noticed Lucy growing concerned over the treatment of the very people that had taught me so much. Lucy shook her head and rightfully disobeyed my order.

However, I was insistent that she listen to my command and started to scoff at her for her inability to be able to respond to my commands.

"Lucy! Do as I say! Tackle her NOW!" I demanded.

Luckily, my own Pokémon did not relent and as much as she wanted to obey me she squeaked in protest to my order. Flying overhead of my bike and getting behind me with an angry brow. She insisted that she will not listen and with complete insubordination she blasted a puff of Sweet-Scent powder to my face to make it apparently clear.

"Hack-ugh!" I coughed.

"You will comply, otherwise I'll break you even more during our training!" I said with slight regret in my voice.

"She's going to knock us off the track Misty! Use your Pokémon!" Yelped Brock to the left of her on the gravel path.

"I don't know what happened to you Leaf. Let go of that attitude toward your Pokémon right now or you'll be put on the ground by me!" She furrowed with a serious look upon her face.

"Staryu! Water Pulse!"

Misty quickly reacted by braking and swiftly jutting the bike into a reverse position. She allowed her bike to coast at the same speed down hill and positioned Staryu to the front who was nestled comfortably within her bikes' white, weaved picnic basket. Staryu wasted no effort and spouted water from its red jewel toward the ground like a hose. That my tires nearly slipped and gave way to gravity.

Dowsing the rock and sand into a muddy mess, while I continued to stabilize the bike on course. It became difficult for me to maintain balance and I swiftly turned the bike to the right to avoid some of the massive water spill from her Pokémon's attack. That I began to get rather perturbed by how effective it was.

"Tch." I gritted.

If only my Pokémon would attack this would be a little easier. I bit with contemplation.

"Swift attack Staryu!" Declared Misty with a nervous look upon her face.

I had successfully made my approach to her again after she had dowsed the ground. Yet it did not help that there was another incoming attack. Swift was an assured move that would hit on contact if I didn't avoid the move outright.
