"Are you mad," Scarlett asked Yanjun as the two of them sat in his car outside the restaurant where the other boys were already seated inside. During the drive, the two of them silently listened to music and the vehicle was filled with tension.

Neither of them knew how to feel about the situation since Yanjun was Justin's friend and when a friend says their sibling is off limits that means they're off limits. Especially since he's living in his house.

"No," Yanjun answered honestly, looking over to see she was staring out the windshield.

"Good..."

"Yeah," Yanjun nodded his head, unsure of what he should say to her. Yanjun knew he liked Scarlett a lot and wanted to be with her, but he knew her brother meant the world to her.

"We should go inside then," Scarlett quickly said, exhaling and before Yanjun could say anything she was out of the car.

Yanjun didn't understand why, but he felt like his world was tipping over. It wasn't like it was the absolute end for the two of them. Justin would get over it sooner or later. Right?

Scarlett went into the restaurant without Yanjun and took a seat between Xukun and Zhengting who told her they ordered her favorite for her. She smiled as a thanks before messing with her phone in her hand, her mind drifted off into the distance.

You can't date Yanjun. You already hurt Justin enough. If you go behind his back or even try to be with Yanjun, Justin will be so upset, the voice in her head said. You don't deserve him anyways. He's way too nice for you.

Scarlett bit her lips thinking about it. She left Justin alone for how long and she didn't contact him for two whole years.

He must've been so hurt, Scarlett thought looking to her brother who was laughing at something Chengcheng said. I shouldn't have these feelings for Yanjun anyways. I'm pretty selfish, aren't I? He deserves someone better. Someone who doesn't have so many problems and responsibilities.

"You okay, Jiejie," Linkai asked from the end of the table. She looked over to see he and Ziyi were silently watching her with worry written on their face.

"Y-Yeah. I'm just thinking about the next couple of days," Scarlett hid her sadness and created the perfect smile for them. "I can't wait."

"Me too. The stage looks so cool, I've always dreamed of performing on one like it," Justin joined into the conversation just as Yanjun went and took his seat between Zhangjing and Nongnong. However, Scarlett didn't notice since she reverted back to silently thinking to herself.

Yanjun silently watched her stare at her lap and sometimes glance up to act like she was paying attention. He already felt her distancing herself from him, but hoped that it was only for the afternoon. He hoped that maybe they would be okay later and act like nothing happened.

"I don't feel too good," Linkai suddenly said, clutching his stomach.

"Y-Yeah, me too," Ziyi said beside him, catching everyone's attention. Scarlett looked up from her lap to see the two of them bending over in fake pain. She was going to ask them what was going on, but the two of them gave her the look. "I think we should go home...Scarlett, could you drive us?"

"Sure," she said although she was unsure.

"Thanks," the two boys said together and got up from their chairs still playing their roles as sick kids.

"I guess we'll see you guys at the house," Scarlett said and followed after the two actors. Yanjun took notice of how her eyes met all of the others except for him and he knew that a barrier grew between them already.

"You're not going to listen to Justin, right, Jiejie," Linkai asked Scarlett as Ziyi drove them home with later sitting in the middle back seat. "I mean, you do whatever you want. He's younger than you, you don't have to-"

"Let's not worry about it," Scarlett cut him off, in a quiet voice. She didn't want to talk about it because it made her heart shutter with pain. She had only known Yanjun for nearly five months and she already had strong feelings for him. It'd been a little more than a year since she had ever been so close to being with someone.

So close, Scarlett thought to herself. She so easily let him in and kept pushing him out.

"Don't you like Yanjun though," he asked as Ziyi glanced at her, but his eyes moved back to the road just as fast.

He'd get tired of you, the voice in her head returned. You need to let him go, he'd be better off without you.

There was no denying how much Scarlett liked Yanjun. She might have even come close to loving him, but she loved her brother more than she could ever love Yanjun. She would pick her brother over Yanjun even if he was the only thing that could ever make her heart happy.

"No," she said with false confidence. "It was just a game."
