Scarlett silently sat at the table with her laptop in front of her and a couple of papers around her. When school started back up, there was a lot more work given in her classes so she wanted to get it done in advance so she could focus on the festival.

"You work too hard, Jiejie," Linkai said seeing her with her eyes glued to a paper. He had a bottle of water in his hand and set it down beside her. "You know, Bin-ge is having a party on Saturday. We should go!"

"Bin-ge," Scarlett questioned looking at the boy, setting her paper down. "Who's that?"

"Ruibin...you know? That guy you were-"

"Since when have you been friends with Ruibin?"

"Well...I saw him a couple days ago and he's a really nice guy. He told me his parents were going on vacation so he's throwing a party and told me to invite the whole house. We should go," he explained calmly.

"I'll ask Yanjun," Scarlett nodded her head and went back to her paper, but Linkai stopped her.

"Why?"

"Why what," she asked, not looking up from the paper.

"Why do you have to ask Jun-ge? Are you two dating now? Is that why he's acting weird?"

Scarlett dropped her paper and looked to the leader of the Yanson fan club, who had a smug look on his face. "There's nothing going on between us. I just have to ask him to see if he agrees whether or not we should go. I also have to ask Zhengting to babysit the kids if we're going because Chengcheng, Justin, and Nongnong cannot go to a party like that. I don't even want you to go."

"Hey! I'm in college too."

"Yeah, but there's already a 12 year old in a 23 year old's body. I don't need the stress."

"This sounds like one of the moments when your mom says 'go ask your dad' and I'm not sure how to feel about it," Scarlett glared at him, but he didn't look scared or intimidated. He just smiled wider.

"You better leave before-"

"Crimson," Yanjun said coming into the kitchen. Linkai smirked, sitting back in his chair, watching the scene. Scarlett shook her head at the boy before turning her attention to Yanjun who was dressed nicely.

"Hmm," she hummed looking over his clothes. He was wearing some black pants and a button down shirt that looked really soft on him.

"Let's go eat," he raised an eyebrow. She immediately nodded her head and closed her laptop before stacking her papers and placing them on top of it.

"So you guys are dating," Linkai asked making Scarlett stop from getting up from her chair. He looked between Scarlett, who had her mouth in a thin line and Yanjun, who silently watched her.

"Never mind. I'm busy," she muttered and began to place her things back, but Yanjun stalked over and stopped her.

"If you stop messing with Red we'll go to the party," Yanjun looked to Linkai while grabbing Scarlett's wrist and tugging her to stand. "I really didn't want to go, but if you do this we will."

"Okay," Xiao Gui answered slowly and Yanjun nodded his head before looking to Scarlett.

"Let's go."

"You're acting weird. You've been acting weird the past couple of days," Scarlett commented as she finished a bite of her food, sitting across from Yanjun. She felt awkward around him today since he was clearly acting different towards her.

"Well, I figured since you still you haven't fallen madly in love with me. I should try a different method," he answered honestly and she nodded her head silently.

"I don't like it," Scarlett said, avoiding his gaze. He placed his chopsticks down and silently watched her messing with her food on her plate.

"Why?"

"Because it's not you," she sighed looking to him. "If you're going to make a girl fall in love with you, your actions should be natural. You're naturally flirty and sadly, you're naturally annoying, but it's better than what you're doing. You're trying too hard."

The two of them held each other's gaze, silently trying to understand each other, but Scarlett looked away first and went back to eating.

"So you actually like me."

"Shut up, Yanjun," she chuckled, but didn't deny it. "You sure you're okay with going to Binbin's party?"

"Yeah, as long as you stay away from him and never call him Binbin ever again," Yanjun said looking at her seriously.

"Aw, are you jealous of him? C'mon, he's just a friend."

"But you kissed him. I'm your friend and you haven't kissed me," Yanjun pointed out and she rolled her eyes at him.

"Because you're different."

"So how do I become like Ruibin?"

"You don't want to."

"Why not?"

"Because he's just a friend."
