Where you don't believe in love, until your brother Yuri Plisetsky fixes you up a date with someone special))
I've never believed that something as make believe as love existed between two people. To me it was nothing but a chemical reaction in the brain that made them think it was love for a person. There was no real love that I had ever seen between two people, not that I care anyways.
It's stupid. Love itself is a stupid concept which I never understood, and i didn't need to either. I was happy the way I was, with my brother Yuri Plistesky. Family is something that I would treasure more than any old person to share a life with. Being alone didn't sound so bad, as long as I had my family, and that was Yuri.
But unfortunately he had other plans for me. You see Yuri didn't like the thought of me being alone all my life- even if I was happy that way.
"(Y/N)!~" I heard him shout as I stopped skating around aimlessly on the ice rink. "What can I do for you?" I asked him, not moving from my point on the ice as I crossed my arms and turned to him. Yuri had a suspicious aura about him, and his smile was as micheiveious as the boy himself.
"I've got a bit of a surprise for you." He cooed
"That's never good." I replied and quietly snickered as I watched Yuri pout before continuing.
"I've got you a date!" He declared, making my jaw hinge. "A date!? Yuri I don't date, you know I don't." Yuri didn't want to hear any of my excuses apparently because he just put his hand out in front of him and shushed me. "You'll have to go and meet her of course.."
'Wait, her? Yuri didn't know I wasn't into guys- I haven't even told him about that!' Yuri must've seen the look on my face because he yawned and spoke, "I've known for years ok? So you'll be meeting with her for dinner at 6, at this nice place called [resturant name]! Wear something nice and please don't be late. She is a....nice person!"
I tapped my arms in thought and then sighed, "fine whatever. What's her name?" I asked him and watched as he smiled in what looked like accomplishment.
"Her name is Mila~"
- Time Skip -
'What in heavens name am I doing..?' I thought to myself as I stood staring at the sign to the restaurant. Beside me a woman suddenly stood doing the same thing. "My friend has set me up on a date. I have no idea who she is either.." She seemed to whisper to me, and I looked to her with my jaw hung.
Pretty wasn't a good enough description to fit her. I didn't know how to describe her beauty honestly. "M-Me as well. Her name is Mila.." I trailed off, in hope the woman would just turn to me and say 'well good luck with that!' But she just looked to me and smiled.
"Hey that's me! You must be (Y/N) then! Yuri's sister~" I should've known that Yuri would make me go out with such a gorgeous girl. I was so flustered that I almost couldn't reply to her.
"Y-Yeah that's me! Yuri's sister." I failed at a good first impression, i knew that much. But Mila didn't seem to mind one bit, she continued smiling brightly and beaming. "Well let's head in shall we?" And with that we both entered the restaurant and got a table for 2. As we were sat down and handed our menus I began to frantically scan the text, trying my best to stay calm if I could even manage that.
Her soft blue eyes calmly read over everything, her shoulder length maroon hair waved gently as her head moved with her. I was truely enthralled in her movements, even though she wasn't purposely doing anything to effect me this way. "So, what are you having?" She asked me and I was snapped out of my small daydream.
"Uh...I'm not sure. Whatever you're having I guess?" I said and smiled awkwardly. Mila smiled at me brightly and giggled, "well in that case I'll make sure to get something wonderful then."
The waiter came and we ordered drinks as well as our food. While waiting, Mila decided to try and make small talk with me. "So, Yuri told me that you skate?" She asked as she gently sipped her drink. I nodded slightly as I fiddled with my fork, "yeah- I try." I half-heatedly chuckled and Mila shook her head.
"You must try very hard. Yuri told me all about your skating! You're brilliant!" At that comment I could feel myself blushing. Compliments wasn't something I was always accustomed to, so when I got them you can bet your bottom dollar I was a blushing mess. "T-Thank you, although I have heard some things about you as well. You tried to do a duet skate with my brother?" I asked her, curious go hear her side of the story seeing as though I've already heard Yuri's.
She laughed and then sat forward on the table as she began to explain the whole incident. I will admit that there were times where I was laughing purely because I could imagine the way Yuri could look in the way she was describing. The younger, much angstier version of himself.
The rest of the night was pure conversation over a candle lit dinner. I enjoyed every moment of it...which was something I wasn't expecting myself to say.
As we left the restaurant, I stopped at the bottom step and turned to her. "Well thanks for tonight, I enjoyed myself." I told Mila and she giggled as she stepped forward and grabbed my hand. "I hope we can do it again." She said before kissing my cheek and walking away.
I felt the hand that she grabbed had something inside, a piece of paper with a phone number and a small smiley face. I felt my cheeks heat up and my heart beginning to pound in my chest.
'This must be love.' I thought to myself as I began to walk home with a smile on my lips.
