"Gah! I'm gonna be late!" I shouted as I frantically ran around in a flurry of clothes. I quickly got dressed and did my hair, hurrying to make it look as best as i could.
I paused in front of the mirror and looked down at my makeup bag. "Make up or nah?" I stared at myself for a moment before throwing my hands up running out of the bathroom. "No time!" I frantically put on my shoes and grabbed my wallet and phone as I rushed out the door.
I shut it behind me and ran downstairs before leaving and heading down the street. I was meeting Minami outside of the ice rink, and he was going to take me somewhere that I was completely in the dark about.
As I skidded to a halt my watch began to beep as it alarmed me that it was 6:00pm. I clicked it off and sighed with relief. "Made it just in time.." I mumbled to myself and looked around for a moment before sitting on a nearby bench to wait for Minami.
As I sat there, the doors swung open and he looked at me smiling. "I'm glad your here-" He paused when I stood up and he blushed gently. "You look....beautiful..." He said to me and then coughed before rubbing the back of his head. "I-I mean you look really good..."
My eyebrows ticked as I remembered her flustered I was getting dressed. "Oh, it was something I just threw together." I said through gritted teeth and then smiled at him gently before looking to the side.
"Then shall we get going?" I asked him and he nodded before turning and walking down the street. I followed him and walked by his side as he led us to our desired location, which I still didn't know.
Minami looked around and then pointed. "There it is." He said and I looked up, spotting a little festival. I gasped quietly and then stopped.
"D-Don't you think I'm a bit underdressed for this?" I asked him and he shook his head at me. "I don't think so....it isn't a big thing anyways. It is just a food festival with some fireworks." He told me and walked towards the glowing light with his hands in his pockets.I sighed for a moment before following him and entering the colourful world. All of the food smelt exceptionally good. Minami and I walked from stall to stall, eating what we desired and making small talk between each other.
Minami spoke about how his skating and how hard he finds his new skating regimen, and then he asked me if I did any sports. Which I didn't.
I literally stay in my room reading manga and watching anime....does that count as a sport?
I just told him that I liked to swim occasionally but hat I wasn't too big on doing sport. But that I liked watching it immensely.
Once the announcement was set for the fireworks to start, Minami led me to the perfect place to watch the fireworks. We sat down and dangled our legs over the edge of the bridge as we both held colourful sprinklers in our hands and sat waiting for the fireworks to begin.
"This was fun." I told Minami as I watched my sprinkler burn in front of me. Minami smiled and nodded gently. "Yeah it was pretty fun, I'm glad that we went on this date." He told me and I felt my cheeks heating up at the mention of the word 'date'.
I had complete forgotten that we were hanging out on romantic terms, I had gotten lost in all the fun that I forgotten the reason of being there. Minami made me forget that the reason I agreed to go on this date was because I liked him. A lot.
As I looked up to the starry sky I began to think of something that struck me as uncertain. Should I kiss him? Or let him make the move?
My heart began to pound within my chest as the first firework was set off. A colourful explosive was set off on the sky, and it was coated with sparkles of purples, blues and golds. The next few were more colourful balls the covered half of the sky.
I felt warmth on my hand, looking at Minami's hand on mine. He had a light blush across his cheeks, I leant over and turned his face to me pressing my lips to his gently before moving my hand to his neck.
Minami let out a gentle yelp in surprise but soon kissed me back, placing a hand on my back as the fireworks gently kept painting the sky with its colourful emotions.
I looked at Minami and pulled away with a smile as he began chuckling. "What an eventful night." He said gently and rested his forehead against mine as I let out a quiet giggle.
"Yeah...I can't wait for the second date." I playfully joked in all seriousness and Minami nodded gently. "Of course~"
