"I-Itachi... what is happening right now?" you asked, clutching one of the pillows tightly as a sense of unease washed over you.
"I don't know, Imouto," Itachi replied, his brows furrowing as he listened to the eerie silence that had fallen around them.
Since the mayor's visit, there had been no sound from the other side of the door. You and Itachi had been trapped in the small secret room for a night, and while you didn't mind the confinement, your thoughts were consumed by worry for the safety of Saki and Zac. Their sacrifice for you left you with unanswered questions, gnawing at your conscience.
"No... no, no, no, no!" You suddenly jumped to your feet, rushing to the door and desperately attempting to open it. Your efforts were futile; the door remained locked, and the bookshelf obstructed any escape route. "Open, goddammit! OPEN! OPEN! OPEN! SAKI! ZAC!" You screamed at the top of your lungs, your voice echoing through the small room, but there was no response. Defeated, you slumped to your knees, resting your head against the door.
"It looks like the mayor got them..." Itachi quietly observed, his voice laden with resignation. You sniffled, wiping away your tears with trembling hands.
"What's wrong with having good times with old friends, Itachi?" You watched as he opened a bag that Saki and Zac had left behind, wiping sweat from his forehead as he searched for something useful.
"I don't know, Imouto... I don't know," he replied somberly. "The only thing I know is that we have to get out of here, immediately. They might come back and find us." He took out a hammer and closed the bag. "We'll need that..." You heard him muttering to himself, cringing at the memory of your first kills at Chocho's party, which turned into a disaster.
"Of course... we have to kill people again..." You grabbed your head, devastated by the thought of getting blood on your hands once more. The memories of your blood-stained hands sent a shiver down your spine.
Itachi stepped to the window and opened it. Fortunately, Zac's apartment was on the second floor. He seized the opportunity to escape and reached for your hand. Silently, you allowed yourself to be carried by him in a bridal style, closing your eyes. Itachi performed an elegant jump and landed safely before gently putting you down, grabbing your arm.
"We're out, Imouto... please, we have to get back to the others, before-" An explosion cut him off, causing you to turn towards the direction of the sound. You expected him to react calmly and reservedly, but reality proved different. His skin had lost its color, and his eyes were wide open, as if he had just seen a Titan. You backed away, looking up to your adoptive brother, a sinking feeling of dread filling you. "I-Itachi... W-what's wrong? Why are you-"
"-It already began..." He cut you off, starting to walk away while dragging you.
"W-What began?!" Fear and anxiety caused your body to shake and shiver, not due to the cold, but the imminent danger that now surrounded you.
"The others started with their plan..." How could he...?
"What?!" You snapped your head to him, your voice trembling with fear. "How would you know?!"
"...Imouto. I'm going to bring you to a safe place, but after that, you've got to stay there until everything's over!"
You clenched your fists, your eyes widening as the weight of the situation sank in. You had a sinking feeling that someone was going to die soon.
N-No...

Sighing, Himawari unpacked the things she needed for her part of the plan. Her job was to help all the injured people while having connections with everyone thanks to the radio operator. The day of their action had come, and Himawari, worried about her big brother's life, was not ready to see him off like that, especially in a war.
