Third person's POV
You follow Saki's father through his palace, taking in the opulence that surrounds you. Everything seems to be adorned in gold, a stark contrast to the life you've known so far. You can't help but think about Himawari and Boruto, realizing that they must have lived in this extravagant place before their father's disappearance or death. Their lives must have changed dramatically since then.
As you move through the palace, you notice various pictures of Saki and her father, but there's no sign of her mother in any of them. It dawns on you that you could have been friends with Saki if you had only realized the truth earlier. You regret not having the chance to say goodbye to your friends and the Uchiha brothers.
Tears well up in your eyes as you think about your father and the Uchiha brothers. What will happen to them if they lose their only daughter and friend? You question your own emotions, wondering why you're crying when your actions were meant to save Boruto.
The mayor glances at you, sensing your distress. He's reminded of his own suffering after his wife's death and how it changed his daughter. He had sought revenge to avenge her, but now he can't help but feel conflicted about his actions.
He pushes you into a room and steps away to gather what he needs. Alone in the room, you take a moment to reflect. At least your hands are untied, giving you some freedom of movement for what may be your final moments. You resign yourself to your fate with a sigh, accepting that it can't be helped.
Just then, the door opens, and Saki enters with an evil grin. You look at her with a mixture of sadness and acceptance, recalling the times when she used to greet you with a bright smile.
"(y/on)! I love you so much!"
"You're my best, best BEST friend!"
She changed so much. What happened to her?
As Saki ties you up, she revels in her sense of victory. Her cruel laughter fills the room, and you can't help but sigh in resignation. Bound and trapped, there's one burning question that occupies your thoughts.
...Why?
-
"That's it! SON OF A DAMN BITCH!" Sasuke's enraged outburst pierces the tense atmosphere, momentarily breaking character in his anger. Himawari, quick to react, steps in to prevent him from unleashing his fury upon the doors and nearby objects.
"Calm down, Sasuke! We could still make a getaway from the hospital and get in there! So, what are we waiting for?" Her voice remains remarkably composed amidst the chaos. "It's my plan, after all..."
With a sense of urgency, they both take cover behind two nearby doors, weapons at the ready. It's a revelation that leaves your eyes wide as you realize they're prepared for any eventuality.
"Guys? But how?!" Your astonishment escapes in a hushed whisper.
"Now the time has come to say goodbye," the mayor's ominous voice echoes as he enters, clutching a gleaming knife, his hands encased in gloves. Your determination remains unwavering, and you nod in acknowledgment.
Saki, wearing a faint but determined smile, positions herself a few meters behind her father. Your heart warms at the sight, recalling the warmth of your childhood friendship with her. Yet, her grin fades, replaced by a pallor that reflects her inner turmoil. She begins to envision you as her missing friend, remembering the smiles they once shared, reigniting a spark of recognition amidst the intense standoff.
No...is it really her?
You looked down in defeat.
I had a nice life... nice friends and 'brothers'. Goodbye world, I always hated you and I still do.
