No Longer Dark, But Still Not Light (Part 3)

Alright so I figure I should explain why these two don't hate each other as much as everyone says they possibly should
Ren has been gone for three years now. After a lot of rumors and speculation it became clear when battle after battle a certain hulking presence was no where to be found, rumor has it he blew up, his own men killed him, Snoke got so mad at him he decided to off him himself, suffice to say that even though Leia knew he was still alive in the force there were times when she would worry anyways

but enough about that, the reason Rey and Kylo aren't fighting like caged lizards is because Rey was told by Luke what Snoke did to him, also making claims that he had saved both Finn and Rey's lives on multiple occasions (see: in the forest and Kylo could have totally sliced Finn in half ok) and after having so much anger and no one to be angry about it slowly faded into something that still dislikes him, but doesn't hate him and is grateful that he wasn't as cruel as she might have originally thought, and both Rey and Kylo find each other attractive, also they do have a force bond but it's very very weak, as they've spent almost no time forging it as Kylo's been trying to keep himself out of the forces reach due to Snoke
Kylo is more chill because he's separated himself from everyone who's told him who he's supposed to be, and in doing so has kind of found who he is, and in finding himself he's found more of an emotional balance inside himself which gives him more peace and what I hope comes across as cockiness because I don't think it actually does,
but I'm really trying to make it enjoyable and coming out regularly, even if the quality of the fic takes a hit, so please excuse me, I'm just trying to get these pieces of the story out!
also in this chapter I mention Rey being sad that she's parting with her money, I put this in to rep the fact that money = portions to Rey, and when she hands over money it very much feels like she could be handing over a chance at survival so for her it's still a very real and painful thing to give currency over to someone else because it's food or its medicine she could use it later for, she is a scavenger after all, I'm not trying to make ren her sugar daddy ok that's not what this is
also it still goes to fast and reads like a trashy romance because that's what it is tbh

They land on a planet not much better then the one Kylo's been living on. It's just a tad classier. The air is severely clearer and easier to breathe in. He pulls air into his lungs, feeling the burn of the cold in the same time it hits his limbs. It strikes him as odd this planet. It seems to be halved in classes. A poorer district and a high class district. They seem to have landed right in the middle of it. He has a half baked thought of him and Rey in fancy dress dancing around a ballroom laughing and dancing. Eating at a restaurant and enjoying the others company. Sharing food from the others fork with ease and a smile. It doesn't last though. They have work to do and no time to think upon such silly things.

There's a soft closing of the ramp on the falcon, before a whistling pierces his eardrums.

"It's this way!" The Jedi calls out like his ears don't now feel like they're filling with blood.

They start down some road and the maintained road that they stumbled on slowly starts to fade into disrepair as much as the old buildings do. They look old and like they're minuets away from crumbling. He's catchings up to Rey beforethe buildings fall and catch up to him.

"So where are we going?"

"Parts shop"

"Why all the way out here? I don't think we're going to find what we're looking for. The falcon requires very specific parts you know"

"I know what I'm doing"

"Alright"

He, as it turns out was wrong. They had exactly what they were looking for and even a few spare parts Rey had needed to buy as well. It was honestly a steal given how much they paid for all of it. Even if Rey looked like she was handing over her last meal when giving the man credits. He slipped a few more in her bag when she was paying more attention to a bobble then what he was doing.

It was a bit later when they finally left the shop. The four moons brightening up the roads and streets.

"If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?" He turns when he asks her.

"Why do you ask?"

"It seems like a simple enough question. If we're stuck together we might as well get to know each other"

"I guess that's true... If, if I could go anywhere. I think I would want to go somewhere with lots of green, and water, and color. Anywhere beautiful. No sand though, I think I've had enough sand for once"

"Is there a specific planet you have in mind?"

"Any planet really, any planet is better then Jakku"

He takes that knowledge and buries it deep in his heart for later.

In the lull of thief conversation he can hear the tapping of feet. He turns to the sound, searching for it. It always pays to be cautious. The first thing he sees is the white and red insignia of the First Order. He quickly pulls Rey into another alleyway. They need cover and they need it now.

There's an idea that pops into his head, something of his fathers own making. It's an idea that Rey probably not like but they really do need a cover. If he remembers the story correctly his mother didn't like it either.

"Rey, we don't have much time. I need you to trust me"

"Trust you? Why what ar-"

"Please Rey, just trust me"

The footsteps are getting closer and there's a couple who could pass as the two of them walking away. He backs them both into the wall, before looking in the eyes that changed his life. Before he can think, before he can hesitate, his lips are on hers. They both hesitate to the point where it's just lips mashed together until Rey initiates more of a kiss. Their lips move together slowly, it's a learning experience as neither had ever done it before.

Ren listens to the footfalls try to be discreet as they follow the other couple. His sigh of relief is swallowed up by Rey's mouth. They continue even though the danger is gone. It's sweet and soft and everything Kylo somehow knew Rey was. His hands move from the wall behind her head to her waist. They work together. They are one together. They can try to deny it all they want. They can try to get rid of the bond all they want. They are one and the bond grows stronger the more time they spend together. They break away softly, a small line of spit connecting them still. Kylo watches as it breaks the apart before meeting Rey's eyes again. Her pink lips are now a beautiful red. He can see her chest slowly rise and fall with exertion. There's something possessive he feels in his chest in knowing he did this to her.

They keep up eye contact until Rey's face turns bright red and she pushes him away.

"Let's, just get going ok?"

"Yeah, sure"

They make their way back through the alleyways, or try to before they see 3 more First Order troops. He has half a mind to use it as an excuse to taste Rey again but decides against it. They need to get out of here without being seen. No doubt they're here from tracking the falcon which means it'll be a hotspot for the people actively looking for them.

"We need to lay low" He tries to tell her. Hearing no reply he looks to find her touching her lips with a shine in her eyes. He grabs her hand before speaking again. "Rey" It catches her attention this time. "The Falcons dangerous, our best chance of getting out of here alive is laying low" She nods her head in acknowledgement but her gaze still seems to be locked on their hands. He pulls her to their best option for the night. It's a small hotel that's sign is blinking wildly with half the lights out. It looks far more welcoming then death at this point.

If they only have one room with a single twin bed left, well, at least it's a bed.
