Rey grasps his body, already shutting down non essential systems. It wouldn't be long before he joined body mind and soul with the force.

Rey had tried the stop the bleeding to no avail, there was no saving Kylo Ren now.

In his last final breaths he tells her that he loves her. That her eyes shine with the beauty of a thousand stars, that she is the only ray of light that could have ever warmed his cold dead heart.

When he finally goes it's like a piece of herself has been ripped right out. She feels numb, and broken. Rey doesn't cry, just cradles his body closer She holds him until the last of the warmth leaves his cold body and her friends pull her away. The last thing she does is close the eyes that looked at her with such love and adoration. The final thing she'll see of him for a very long time. Her hands leaves three bloody marks across his face. She doesn't have the time to care.

Finn watches Rey in her last moments with the man he had feared all his life. Watching him lying lifeless and dead on the floor sent shivers through him, like something that has been kept alive far to long has finally been given release. Finn watches Rey leave the mark on Ben Solo, three red lines. It hits him all at once, how they look exactly like the ones he had been given when he had decided that the First Order wasn't going to be his puppet master anymore. It was the brand that marked him as a traitor, as unclean, and now Kylo wore the same mark upon his own face. Finn didn't hate him so much anymore after that.
