that's right Rainbinos I cARE ABOUT THAT BOOK SERIES AGAIN (I have started chapter seven prAISE ME)
Anyway this is like them in the modern world without dragons
Neima's dad is pretty high up in the government and they're quite well-off, her mom is a professional sports player
She's always been rambunctious and reckless, even though she was a little bit spoiled as a kid, none of that really affected her
Nomen was her neighbor from across the street, and they'd run off and play on the beach and climb trees (in my headcanon they live in like lakefront Chicago or something)
Later on her dad's cats, Toothless and Comet, had kittens, and she bonded with one named Shimmer, who follows her everywhere
Nomen later got a job raising and training birds of prey, and bonded with a golden eagle named Umber. They later adopted her into their own home and now she lives with him
Nomen and Neima ran off one day to go on an adventure, which scared the living daylights out of their parents, but they got home safely
Now Neima works at a bookshop with Shimmer down Lakefront Avenue and Nomen trains his birds
