Chapter 40

3 months later

KAYLAS POV

Me and Grayson arrive at the doctors.Today we will find out the gender of our baby.

We walk into the front door and hold hands.We told our parents and it wasn't a...fun conversation.We had to postpone the tour.

-flashback-

"Hey mum.Hey dad.I know this is going to be hard to hear but I can't keep this from you.Im pregnant with Graysons baby and he promised to be there with me every step of the way." I smiled but also felt like my stomach was going to explode because of fear.

Mum and Dad (stepdad) look at each other.

"I thought we thought you how to be more responsible.We are disappointed in you.Sixteen and pregnant!We love you but this is unacceptable.I raised you better than this."My mum rants.

"You will not speak to her that way.Your barely home and when you are you's don't talk unless it's family drama,oh wait you didn't mention it to her did you?"Grayson protects me.

"How dare you.You will leave her as soon as the baby's born."my mother growls.

"No.How.Dare.You.She is the reason why I love life because when I wake up, it's beside her and that's where I want to be.She is the only person that can make me choke on my words because I'm afraid I'll say something bad and she'll slip away.I love your daughter and you have no right to judge us.Not convincing enough?"Grayson glares at my mother.

Mum looks astounded.

"You are making a mistake."Mum looks at me.

"Why?because you had me at seventeen?Am I a mistake to you ?"I look at my mother.

"Yes."she looks at me guiltily.

Grayson looks at me then looks at my mum.

"For someone like you who claims to have raised her , you did a fantastic job at making sure she never ends up like you."Grayson grabs my arm and we both storm out of the house.

I stop and his hand slips out of mine.A tear slips from my eye.

"I'm a m-mistake."I choke because of the lump in my throat.

"No your not.Neither is our baby." Grayson hugs me and kisses my forehead.

-Flashback over-

"Hey."Grayson waves his hand in front of my puffy face.

Graysons family were totally cool with the idea of us having a child.In fact , I think they want us to have even more kids.

"Yeah?"I look at the walls of the crummy hospital room.

The door handle swoops down and a male doctor approaches us.

"Hello you must be .. Miss .. Hart." The doctor flips through his notes and smiles at me.

"Yes."I nod awkwardly.

"How can I help you?" He asks politely.

"We would like a screening and to check if the baby is okay."I smile and Grayson holds my hand.

"Okay I'm going to lift up your stomach and place a jelly like substance on it okay?" The doctor replies happily.

I nod my head and he does as he said.

"Okay , here you can hear two heartbeats." The doctor smiles.

"Mine and the baby's?"I ask confused.

"If we're counting yours,then three heart beats.Your having twins Miss hart.One is a boy and the other is a girl."The doctor explains.

I look at Grayson in shock.We both listen to the heart beats and Graysons smile could reach his ears.

I grin and I don't think my kids are mistakes.
