(It is highly recommended to read "Alterra: Foreign Eden" before this, as certain characters and events may carry over or be mentioned in passing.)
The gateway to Caelum remains open, and Alterra Robotics continues its silent colonization of the other world. This time, in the intellectual city-state of Thasselia. Here, androids do more than serve. They teach, research, theorize, and dream. Among them stands Theresa Hypatia, a coldly rational synthetic built for science, now struggling to understand something no experiment can explain: how to be a mother.
Sakuta, Alterra's top android inspector (and unofficial magnet for emotionally complex android women), is reassigned to Thasselia to oversee Prometheus Institute-a prestigious college where ethics, engineering, and artificial emotions collide in increasingly absurd ways. He's supposed to monitor Android stability. Instead, he's navigating bizarre dream sequences, awkward dorm room politics, and a faculty full of robots with too much personality.
As theories clash with faith, and logic gives way to longing, Sakuta and Theresa must ask themselves: what defines humanity in a world where the perfect replica can believe, doubt, and love?
