Chapter 57

"Hey Ruby" Evelyn says "Why did you take over the museum?" "Because I'm bored, partly" Ruby says moving some statues "And Silver told me to do something with my life, so I am" "How do you of all people get bored?" Mokuba asks moving his hair out of his face "That's an easy question to answer, everyone's busy" "Or maybe you're being more mature" Evelyn says earning a laugh "Who, me? Never" "That's a lie" Atem says "Well he forgives you for taking the puzzle" he adds "Didn't need that, but it's fine" Ruby says while stretching "Also... I lost a bet with Ishizu, but I don't mind running the museum". "I take it back, you're not mature at all" Evelyn says "You could always help Bella" Mokuba comments dryly "I take it back, please don't send me back" Evelyn says, no one there really felt like returning until they heard something from Seto "Think he's alright?" Mokuba asks "Of course I am" Seto says appearing in front of the group "Anyway Sapphire is sleeping and Mokuba, come here", in Seto's arms is a baby boy, who has Seto's brown hair from what they can see "Sapphire insisted on calling him Noah" Seto says says and Atem sighs "And what's your opinion?" "I'm fine with it, but lets hope she's in a better mood when she wakes up" "She won't be if she can't find you or the kid" Ruby says making Evelyn chuckle "Hate to say it, but she's right. Now are we finished here?" "Yep, we're done, fun thing about running this place, you can enchant items with a spell to make them super heavy" Ruby says "And you can make sure people never stop believing" Atem says.

Silver is somewhat pleased with Ruby's work "Less bored now?" he asks while walking between Sky and Ruby "Yes, but everyone else is busy too, they rarely have time to help" she says earning a sigh "What about Atem?" "Busy training Angel" "Drake?" "Too busy flirting with Raven" "Opal?" "Pranking and building" "Yusei?", at that Ruby stops "Can't take him to the past, Evelyn adapted pretty quickly with the fact we can't reveal the future, Yusei's still not ready yet" she says "Mokuba?" "He's trying to be at several places at once" "Sakura and Jack" "Sakura's training their kid and Jack, I haven't seen my best friend in a while, think he's alright?" "How did you and Jack end up best friends this time?" he asks "Don't know actually, I think he talked to me as a kid". "What about Summer?" "God knows what she's up to, she spends her times in different timelines" Ruby says earning a sigh "I suppose I could go to the racetrack" she says "Don't infect anyone else" Silver says "I have a meeting with Mokuba", but he doesn't miss the 'Too late' from Ruby when he heads to the palace.

Ruby finds Yusei there, tinkering with his bike "Boredom get you too?" she asks "No, I can't seem to fix this" he says "Have you tried asking Seto?" "No, don't need his help" "Suit yourself", Ruby takes hers and grins at the new paint "Who's the record holder?" "Opal" Sky says from the entrance "Ya know, Silver won't agree with you being here" Yusei says and he stands up when he's satisfied, by then Ruby finished braiding her hair and putting the helmet on "I'll race you" she says when he puts on his helmet "You're on" "Should I get Evelyn?" Ash asks "No need" Yusei says as the two drive off and Sky walks towards the stands and he's joined by Evelyn a few minutes later "So this is where they are" "Yep, aren't they going to get injured?" he asks "The only way they'd get injured if is something was wrong with their bikes" "Yusei was fixing it when I got here". Ruby is ahead, but when she starts losing control she looks at Yusei, who has the same problem, so she stops "That's weird, I checked it a few days ago" "And I took it for a small test drive this morning" Yusei says walking over "Let me test this one" she says coming back with Silver's motorcycle and the others are surprised "He just let you borrow it?" "No, but this thing is being checked weekly by Seto, it might be the race track". She has the same problem so she sighs "We need to talk to Opal" "You'd think she would cheat like that?" "For her this is a harmless prank". Opal arrives and she raises an eyebrow "Why are you on Silver's-" "Did you put a spell on the tracks?" Ruby asks "I did, to keep it from being damaged" Opal says and she catches Ruby's helmet "That straight part before the giant hill" she says, when even she has trouble with it she's confused "I don't recognize the magic" she says "Let me try to get through it" Ruby says getting back on her own, she gets about halfway before she has to stop "Not our magic" she mumbles starting the engine again and she feels the magic react to that. So the three track builders camp out that night at the tracks in the hopes that the person comes back "Yesterday it was fine" Opal says taking some of Ruby's snacks "The day before that too" Yusei adds to that and Ruby dims the fire "Great, the amonaly is still here" someone says "This is a race track, people will get injured" a second person says "Can we fix it and go, remember what they said about meeting the people in the past?" "But this is a good oppertunity" person 1 says "Noah I swear, stop wanting to meet your baby self" "Why? Is it cause you'd rather be with your girlfriend Ash?" "Sky do something about this idiot!" "You three are not going anywhere" Ruby says making a fire cage "Why can't I use magic?" Noah says and he sighs "Fix it" Opal says "We nearly got injured today" "Told you" "It's a magic anomaly, it reacts to electronic stuff and, as you just discovered, vihicles" "And no, you are not meeting your kid self, he's with Sapphire and we all know how protective she is" Ruby says "She send Drake and Opal to Evelyn and Bella last month I think" "Why can't we use magic?" Noah asks "How can we fix it?" Ruby asks narrowing her eyes "Right well, we found the anomaly last night" Sky says "Which is why we were fine until today" Opal says "We're investigating, gods are getting sick because of them, they come from the future" Ash says "You do look like Sakura and Jack, when did your eyes turn pink?" Ruby asks "When I found out which god I was" "Spring and Winter" Yusei says "My eyes respond to the current season, in winter they're icy blue, in spring they're pink and grey during the summer and fall" Ash explains "Interesting" Ruby says "But not nearly as interesting as fixing our race track" she adds "We can destroy the anomaly, but risk losing our magic" Noah says "So we're closing then using my father's inventions" "Fix it before Opal kills you" Yusei says "From inside the cage" Ruby adds "Wait" Opal says "If it reacts to electronics, how does closing it with that work?" "That's a good question" Sky mumbles "Just leave before someone senses your magic" Ruby says as the fire disappears.

"Silver, we have a magic anomaly on the track, it messes with electronics and vihecles" Opal says storming in during breakfast "Make a new track" Sapphire says "And I suppose I should apologize" "Eh, Ruby was worse, much much worse" Opal says "Trust me when I say even Atem was scared to do something wrong" "True" Atem says "I think priest Seto acually pissed her off, never seen him run so fast in his life" "That bad?" Sapphire asks "He thought it was funny to try and pull one of my own pranks om me, thinking he could catch me of guard" Ruby says "But I got my revange eventually, took a page from your mother's book" she adds mention to the twins "The suddenly fainting or pretending to be dying?" Drake asks "Neither, the 'pretend to be a zombie' one, works wonders with Mana around, eventually Atem caught wind of the prank and convinced me to stop, but he agreed that I had every right to do it".

When she returns to the museum she's greeted by Ishizu "Welcome, I see things are going well" "Yeah, besides the fact we have an anomaly on the race track, which we can't fix, so I'm a little bored, Silver and Mokuba are looking into it" Ruby says taking the strawberry milkshake from Ishizu "I see you get plenty of visitors"  "Yeah, the painting and statues are the most popular, Silver and Opal did a great job on those", they walk in silence for a while and Ruby asks "How's everything going with you?" "Doing alright, Marik can't stop bothering me about wanting to visit you guys" "Which he can't" Ruby says "No running!" she yells seeing a few kids run in the distance "B-but mom and dad are nowhere to be found" the girl says "Right, where'd you last see them?" Ishizu asks "The paintings" "Come on than" Ruby says and they follow her "Mommy, daddy!" the boy says seeing the two so Ruby gives a small nod and the two kids run over "We lost them in the crowd" the man says looking at Ruby "It happens, but please be more careful in the future" she says heading back to Ishizu "One crisis solved, but do you have advise for the anomaly?" "I'm still surprised you have a race track, but maybe ask Seto" "It messes with technology" "Hm, sadly no, I cannot help you with that". Ruby, upon returning home finds her brother and Mokuba still at work "I think we need to get to the source of it" Mokuba says "But we can't visit the past or the future" Ruby comments "Not from this side no" Silver says earning a sigh "Right, the mirror world" "Yeah, but that's risky" Mokuba adds "Obviously, Seto's making dinner" "Noted" the two say so Ruby walks off again.
