Chapter 1.5

A young prince is running around the city with his friend Mana, the two had managed to sneak away, all is well until they run into an oddly dressed girl "Hello young prince," she says and she holds out her hand "My name's Ruby." she says and Mana's eyes sparkle "Yaay a new friend! Let's go tell your father!" she says so she pulls the other two along "Mana, did you talk him into sneaking off?" Seth asks and Mana looks down "It was my idea," the prince says "I wanted to see the city." "Alright then, who's your new friend?" Seth asks and Ruby sighs "My name is Ruby, I'm not from around here, speaking of which... My teacher is probably looking for me," she says and shrugs "Oh well, not my problem." "Your teacher?" Isis asks walking over "Yes, he's teaching me everything I need to know, well I can just watch you guys, but look where that got me." Ruby says rubbing the back of her head "Those clothes... You're a goddess aren't you?" Isis asks and Ruby sweat drops "In training," she adds "I ditched my lesson to meet the one I have to guard in the future."

A week passed and Ruby showed up again, this time accompanied by a white majestic looking cat "Isn't she the cutest?" she asks and Mana says "You didn't come by all week." "Mana, I'm sure she has her reasons." the prince says and Ruby nods "Yep, I'm going to take you two on an adventure, which is why I brought my cat." she says and the two follow her to an abandoned house on the edge of the city "This place is supposed to be haunted." Mana says and Ruby says "It's not, some other kids in training love to prank.", they go in and Ruby says "It's the place where the gate to my home is." she adds "But I read mortal people can't go there" the prince says tilting his head "children can, adults can't" Ruby says and they pass through a portal.

When the blinding light is gone they are standing in a gate room "Ruby who are your friends?" the guard asks and Ruby says "These are Yami and Mana, I'm taking them to the maze of amazement!" "Maze of what?" Mana asks, confused. "You have to solve riddles, play games and all that, but you are required to have three others with you." the guard explains "All the other kids don't like Ruby very much because she has a private teacher." They wave at the guard and head off to the maze "We're here" Ruby says stopping in front of a huge gate which opens "Cats are allowed too cause they count as one person here" Ruby explains, it takes around three hours to get halfway and Mana complains "My feet hurt." "Mana, we're halfway." Yami says pointing to a sign saying 'Halfway point here'. "Oh look, the brat is here and she brought two humans and a cat to help out." a boy says and Ruby looks down hugging her cat "Scaredy cat!" another boy says and Yami narrows his eyes as he pushes the two away from his friends. "Back of you freaks!" he says and Ruby says "It's fine, they're just jealous, cause I know who I'm supposed to guard and what kind of goddess I'll become" "Really? When did you find that out, you can't even use magic yet" a third boy says, but they get cut off when a male behind them says "Enough! I should banish you for talking to her like that." "Come on, let's go." Ruby whispers and she runs on with her friends. "You're training to become the sun goddess?" Mana asks as they take a break "Yeah, runs in the family, my brother's the moon god, so it's the first time that a male is the moon god and a girl the sun goddess" Ruby explains sitting on the ground "But even my own brother rarely has time for me, he's busy with his studies all week, I got free today cause clearing this maze is needed for me to continue my lessons.''

They finish the maze and Ruby sighs "Well I guess you'll have to go back by now," she says and smiles "It was fun though." Mana nods and says "However Ruby, take us on a real adventure next time." "I'll see if I have enough free time." Ruby says and Yami chuckles "Good luck with your studies."
