Yu-Gi-Oh! The Phoenix Goddess (Atem x OC)

Chapter 4

When Ruby was finished saving her friend she got a long lecture from her brother "I'm sorry Ruby, but I'm going to have to do this" he says and his hand glows "Figures, at least let me keep some memories that don't involve ancient egypt" Ruby says "And I know how to get my memories and my magic back if needed", she had broken several rules and the punishment was that she would lose any magic she had and her memories "You will lose all your memories of here and ancient egypt" Silver says and Ruby nods slightly.

When she wakes up in her room she glances at her clock and see it's 5 in the morning "Mokuba, why are you up?" she asks after walking to the living room "I had a nightmare, the world was covered in darkness and everyone was on the ground, not moving" Mokuba says "Weird" Ruby says and she sighs "But it was just a dream Mokuba" she says sitting down next to him, at least she hoped it was, but that hope is scattered when Seto walks down "I thought you wanted to sleep in" Mokuba says and Ruby points to the kitchen "The chef got here earlier, so you can ask for something to eat" she says and Seto yawn "Had a nightmare" "About?" Mokuba and Ruby ask and Seto explains his nightmare and Ruby tilts her head "I had the same nightmare" Mokuba says and Ruby runs back to her room to check the book she has and she stops at one of the pages "This is bad" she says and narrows her eyes "But I can't help yet".

Over the past few days the nightmares were getting worse and Ruby was beginning to notice that the sky had gotten darker "I might have no choice" she says and sighs, she and her brother made a promise to each other and their father, they would still be alive even when everyone else would be dead, meaning there would always be two empty spaces in the temple "Do you want to come with us?" Yugi asks one day when they're hanging at the park "Where to?" Ruby asks and Joey says "Yugi's gramp is taking three of us to Egypt" "Awesome, but why me?" Ruby asks and Yugi says "Well you know how to read it and you're interested in it".

So the next week Yugi, Joey, Ruby and Solomon arrive at Egypt and Solomon says "They said they needed help opening a temple, something called the temple of the gods" "I might be able to help you a little" Ruby and Yami say at the same time and they look at each other, Ruby was wearing her bracelet and necklace, she just needed something from the temple, hidden under the pedestal where her statue would come "Yeah gramps, let's go" Joey says and they head of, at the temple Ishizu is waiting for them "Welcome Pharaoh, my queen, Joey and Solomon" she says and the three look at Ruby confused "Never mind that tiny detail, Ishizu, call me Ruby" she says earning a nod "The puzzle is needed to open this door, but that isn't enough, there's something hidden under each statue" Ishizu says and Ruby looks at the door "Those with a pure heart may enter, the gods may enter when they wish, but beware who to trust once you enter this place as darkness will consume the weak souls" she reads and the puzzle starts glowing "Once a god loses their powers and memories the only way they can open this door is by the items they are given by the king of gods" she reads when that part appears and her items start to glow, the door opens and they go in "What are those empty spaces for?" Joey asks and Ishizu says "The remaining gods", one of the statues glows and they walk over "The goddess of the weather" Yami says and Ruby nods "But if they die their powers will scatter and keep doing what its suppose to do" she says and another one glows on the other side of the row "What's going on?" Ruby asks and this time a male appears "The god of harvest" Ishizu says and Yami says "Leaving two spaces next to the king and queen of the gods" "Silver..." Ruby whispers and she looks the the empty space next to her father "Please don't die...", her eyes widen when that place starts glowing too and Ruby watches in horror as her brother's statue appears "I finally found you" a male says and the group turns to the door "Who are you?" Ruby asks and she steps backwards "The god slayer" the male says.

In Ancient Egypt Mana is looking at the last space in the temple "Ruby please don't die" she says and looks at Seth as he comes to stand next to her "She will be fine" he says and adds "After all, she nearly died once" "But that guy is ruthless" Mana says and Seth sighs "That's true, let's just hope she can fight him".

An explosion can be heard in the temple and everyone coughs a little "I wasn't expecting that" Ishizu says and the smoke slowly clears and Ruby slowly gets up "Neither was I" she says and has to act quickly to dodge and Ruby glances at the statues noticing patterns glowing with some and Joey asks "Ruby why is your arm glowing?" "She and the other runts sealed me away in this form, but I'm close to breaking it" the male says and Ruby takes a deep breath 'Try to remember about seals' she thinks and glances at her room, there had to be a magic circle somewhere she could use, she hears Ishizu call out to her, but is too late to dodge completely "You're nothing without your magic and your memories" the male says and Ruby narrows her eyes "You were sealed for a reason" she says and she takes a step back and a circle lights up "And now I can do it again" she says as she symbols all start glowing, but the last thing she remembers is Yami calling out to her before everything turns black.
