Chapter 25

Silver is standing at the edge of the lake "Hope they're good in puzzles" he mumbles as Summer appears next to him "We should worry about Ruby, she's straining herself too much this time" Summer says looking at the sunset "Can't we help her?" "You can, by making an artificial sun" Silver says "Otherwise she won't last three days". "We fixed the temple!" Opal says appearing behind the couple "Which is pointless unless we unseal our home, Ruby's using up all her energy to buy time and Mike is keeping the only working portal open" Summer says so Opal looks at the goddess who has been her sister for a long time "And you're going to help" Silver says "The sun is down". Summer nods and plops on the grass in meditating position and she starts her spell "The key is confusing, let's hope Seto learned anything at all" Silver says.

A few hours later Mana has given up completely "I don't get this shape" she says looking in the book that has yet another riddle "Look back at your adventure and find the key to unlock the seal" she says and she glances at Seto who hasn't said a word since first reading the riddle and he looks up the symbols "Let's try that one" he says pointing to an oddly shaped one "It has no meaning and if Atem has used any word beyong annoyance it's the word destiny, this logo is on the book of prophecies" he says so they get to work "Ruby's piece last" Mana says and the platform shakes. They needed to figure it out fast, each current god has a piece representing them.

Yugi is hanging out with Joey in his room "Wish we could do something" Joey complains "Atem's gonna be devestated if Ruby dies" "Wouldn't have time for it" Atem says "And I finally got that trick down" he says sitting on the ground "Cool outfit" Yugi comments "Reminds me off what Silver was wearing" "And how would you be able to get your hands on something like that?" Joey asks "Cause I went with Ruby and the others" Atem points out as if it's obvious "But Seto and Mana need some help, so I'm borrowing Joey" he adds before disappearing with the blonde.

The next day in the afternoon it's raining badly "Does this affect Ruby?" Sakura asks "Summer has an artificial sun, but that's normally only for the night" Jack says "We were too late with the time slowing spell" "At least no important things have fallen off yet" Sakura says.

Joey is halfway when the platform shakes again "Faster!" Mana says "Calm down will ya? I can't rush this" Joey says "Both sides are the same" he mumbles, speeding up a little bit "Then we put this in" he adds, but just as he wants to put the last piece in the area shakes again "Hurry up" Seto says, but Joey loses his balance with the next shake so Mana grabs the piece and puts it in.

Ruby's concentration is broken when she hears Summer shout something so she looks up, but the kraken grabs her and throws her to the side and a large stone falls down where was seconds ago "I'm drained" Ruby mumbles and she sees more parts falling down before everything just stops "Did they make it?" Summer asks earning a shrug "We are never sealing it again by the way" Ruby says "Good point" Summer says so the two head back up "Incoming" Drake says so Ruby steps to the side so the hyperactive god can pass them "Silver got injured" Opal says so the two others head off "How?" Summer asks "He was checking the other areas that are below our island" Drake says "With Sakura, who got her leg stuck after a rock fell down and of course he had to play the hero" "I can't heal him right now, where's Bella when you need her?" Ruby asks "Here" Bella says "I've been hiding" she adds walking over "Now Ruby. You, Sakura and Mike are getting some rest and Drake can help me bring Silver to his room" she says.

Ruby is reading a book when Atem walks in "Good thing I got Joey too" he says sitting next to Ruby "Yeah" she says "Bella send me to my room to rest up and seeing as she's the goddess with most medical knowledge her orders can sometimes cancel out my brothers" she says resting her head on his shoulder "We'll go back to Egypt once we finish school alongside Yugi" Atem says earning a nod. When the two arrive back at school Seto just leaves the headmaster's office "Well miss popular got kicked out" he says surprising the two "Headmaster found her bullying Yugi and then she was forced to tell everything she did" he adds. Ruby thinks for a while and says "Well she had it coming, also no Atem" "Fine" Atem says crossing his arms at Ruby, but he understood it all too well. "Silver appointed you as my teacher for other stuff though. He's keeping the shop open as well" Atem says earning a sigh "Of course" Ruby says. At the shop after school Ruby is being lazy so she's doodling in her almost full sketchbook "Your number" she says glancing at the man in front of her who hands her his order comfirmation so Ruby takes the box and shows what's in it, she closes it and hands it to the man after he nods "Please come again" she says "Ruby you're not your usual cheerful self" Sapphire says with a sigh "Still feeling drained" Ruby says while stretching "Go home and rest up" Summer says "Thank you" Ruby says. At home Atem greets her worriedly "You're early" he says "Summer send me home" she explains plopping down on the cough "Someone thought he found a magical hourglass" she says and she adds "I copied the object and tada", she takes an hourglass from a pocket and Atem sends it back up, Opal and Drakw could put that back where it belonged "How do you detect if something is from your home?" Atem asks "We can sense the magic radiating from it, each land has differents gods, but each land of the gods radiates a different kind of magic" Ruby explains and she mumbles "Bella should've forced me to stay in bed" "Well you're back in disguise, doesn't that drain magic?" "It doesn't actually" Ruby says "In ancient Egypt our appearances weren't altered because people needes us, prayed to us, we could do daily things in Egypt and we'd be greeted with a 'Hello' and things like that as if we were always there. Here all that changed and in the future there'll be no need for us at all anymore" she explains "Which is why we can reset certain portals. I saw the future and they didn't pray anymore, forgot we were even real, we were myths no one believed in".
