Maddie's P.O.V.
I spent the night at Jen's parents house for no apparent reason.
When I was dropped off early in the morning, I used my spare key to unlock the door to hear that the house was quiet.
I wonder what's going on up there?
I placed my backpack on the table and tiptoed my way upstairs. The door to Jen's bedroom was ajar and I couldn't help but peek inside.
Thankful the door doesn't squeak on its hinges, I stood at the doorway and silently awwed. They were both sound asleep, unaware of my presence.
They were laying in each other's arms---literally. I have no idea how long they've been in that position.
Perfect time to prank them.
Well, not necessarily a prank, but I wanted to wake them up.
I backed up outside the doorway, and ran onto the bed, plopping my body on top of theirs.
The jolted awake and exchanged a sigh of relief when they realized it wasn't an intruder; it was only me.
“Oh, it's you,” Jen sighed again.
“Morning sleepyheads, I was wondering how long you'd be able to sleep,” I said.
“Apparently only for”---Josh glanced at the alarm clock to his left.--- “six hours.”
They both had their sleepy, morning voices. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw their outrageous hair. It looked odd when they woke up.
Josh used a pillow to cover his face while I got up to open the blinds.
“Need some sunlight. . .that's better.”
Jen squinted her eyes and also used a pillow to cover her face.
“Come on! You can't sleep all day.”
“We could if you hadn't woken us up, Maddie,” Josh mumbled beneath his pillow.
“It's a gorgeous day outside! Let's go do something today!” I insisted.
“Later,” Jen grumbled.
“It's a beautiful day in May!” I rhymed. “Can we go to the beach? It's the perfect day to go! Please?”
One of them said we can go later, and I squealed with joy.
It's about seven in the morning, and the reason I was dropped off early was unknown.

I allowed them to sleep undisturbed until ten.
Breakfast was being made and I helped pack some sandwiches and other snacks for our trip to the beach.
When I first arrived in the fall, it was too cold to even think about going and in the winter, it was never thought about. But it's finally spring and I am looking forward to this beautiful day.
I still had the sparkly blue bathing suit tucked into one of the drawers in my room. I hadn't worn it yet and I smile because I'll get to wear it.
We didn't head out until one, they decided to take their precious time getting ready.
But I didn't care. We were finally here and I took my flip flops off, feeling the hot sand between my toes.
I ran into the water before our umbrella was set. I turned to see Jen and Josh weren't far behind, but they'd catch up later.
I allowed the water to rush into my ears. It was a beautiful and sunny day today--absolutely perfect for the beach.
I watched others surf. Some of them were quite good.
Kites were being flown, much to my surprise. They came in all sorts of colors, shapes and sizes.
A competitive game of volleyball was being held and I watched for a little while, but was more focused on the salty sea water.
Minutes later, everything was set up. I played in the water watching all of this.
Jen waved from a distance and I waved back. First she wanted to tan a bit but eventually she joined me in the water.
The day would've been fine.
If the paparazzi didn't ruin it for us.
