MSG:First this: God created the Heavens and Earth-all you see, all you don't see. Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God's Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss. God spoke: "Light!"

And light appeared. God saw that light was good and separated light from dark.

Meaning: This is probably one of the most well known verses is the bible as it is the first verse in it! It may seem like there is not much too it, but it's actually a pretty amazing verse! We as humans really cannot create anything. Yes, we can make things but the are made up of things God created {if that makes any sense :)} However, God literally spoke the world into motion. He is such an amazingly powerful God he said "Let there be light," and there was light [ vs. 3] I find that absolute amazing!! Every beautiful part of nature; sunrises, plants, incredible creatures; all of it God was created at Gods command! " The earth was formless and empty", like this verse says, God created everything from nothing! He breathed life into the first man, and the best part of all: everything he had created was completely and perfectly good. Of course, as the story continues, Adam and Eve are tempted by the serpent and sin enters the world. I want to encourage you all to read the story of creation in your bibles, really focus on the words and the power of the story!

I find Gods creation really inspirational and helps me mediate on him. Go outside, look around and enjoy creation and take the time to talk to God, read his word and grow closer to him :)

*** Taylor was busy tonight and wasn't able to post so I'll be posting tomorrow too! Taylor and Megan both have field hockey tournaments this weekend- Friday and Saturday- and I have a basketball tournament as well :)
