Today's verse: Proverbs 31:30
NIV: Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
NCV: Charm can fool you, and beauty can trick you, but a woman who respects the Lord should be praised.
Meaning: Peoples outward appearance can trick you. You may think the are the most gorgeous person ever but beauty and good looks fade. Once your old and makeup can't hide anything anymore it won't even matter. A persons personality or charm can trick you, it might be fake! Sometimes it's all just an act! All of these things can trick you into falling in love with someone. A person who respects the Lord and has a good relationship with him is very hard to come by. So if you are lucky enough to find a person like that remember to praise them!
Take action: One of the first things we notice about someone is how they present themselves, there makeup, clothes and physical appearance. We need to try and look past that into who the real person is. Try memorizing this verse and repeating it to yourself whenever you feel like you are starting to judge someone. For those special people you have found that have great respect for The Lord, find away to show them praise! Tell them how cool it is, make them a present, do something! A small kind gesture can go a long way!
So tomorrow my whole grade is going to a theme park! I haven't really been on many roller coaters before so I'm kinda scared!
