He hadn't been well lately.
It took you a while to notice that he was a bit under the weather, but since you noticed you've been at his side. He obviously didn't want you near so that you didn't get sick as well, but you were adamant to stick beside him.
He was running a fever so you were helping him swap between giving him blankets and a cold cloth over his head. He did appreciate your actions but he was still worried in case you'd get sick and he'd have to look after you.
You sigh as you step into the tent for the sixth time that morning, a chilled glass of water in your hand as you moved over to the side of his bed. His attention turned to you when you came in and he slowly reached out for the water.
You smile and shake your head, helping him sit up slightly before raising the glass to his lips, causing him to frown. "I can drink this on my own."
"I know that, but you're my boyfriend and you're sick so I want to look after you." You argue and he eventually gives in, taking a small sip from the water before laying back again with a sigh.
"If you get sick then it's your own fucking fault." He muttered, "... That doesn't mean I won't look after you." He grunted after as he tilted his head in your direction, his eyes still hidden behind his mask.
You smiled and place your hand over his gently, "You flatter me, Adam. I really appreciate that." You say softly, Adam gently taking your hand and raising it to his lips, planting a gentle kiss on your knuckles.
It was one of his rare soft moments, and you wanted to make the most of it as you smiled and leaned down to kiss his cheek, careful not to miss the hint of red that covered his cheeks when you did.
He rolled his eyes when you laughed quietly, playfully shoving you away and causing you to laugh a bit louder and smile at him brightly, causing a small smile to cross his face as well. You never failed to make him smile.
