You hadn't planned on collapsing in the middle of a Menagerie street, but it had happened.

You had been dealing with one of the many shady characters that lurked in the streets, and just to your luck he had pulled a knife and got a swift jab into your side.

You had somewhat made your way to safety, well, as safe as a street corner in the middle of the night could get.

Fennec and Corsac didn't plan on finding you laying in a small puddle of your own blood, but here they were, and there you were, clothes stained with a ruby liquid.

Fennec had been the first to inquire as to what happened to you, but Corsac merely gave him a small and quaint laugh in answer to his question.

"What does it matter, Brother Fennec?" He asked him quietly, tail swaying around as he looked down at your fragile and broken body, "Do you not remember?"

Fennec's ears twitched slightly as he tilted his head to the side much like how a confused puppy would when presented with a command to do a task it didn't know. "No.. I fear that their appearance alone doesn't ring a bell."

Corsac gently nudged your body with his foot, earning an annoyed and tired groan as an answer, "Well, it's sad that you don't remember our dear old (Y/N)."

Fennec's eyes twinkled slightly as his memories flooded back, memories from his childhood and how close you three were before the two of them had eventually moved on to join the White Fang after Sienna Kahn had taken over.

As well as the childhood memories, certain other feelings came back as well, feelings he thought he had buried far enough into the ground that he would never need to experience them ever again.

Corsac gave the smaller brother a knowing glance, "Now you remember.. But do you also feel?" He turned his gaze back to your now asleep form.

Fennec nodded shyly, "...Why didn't they come with us?" He then asked, the question not really directed to anyone.

Corsac shrugged slightly, "Probably the increasing fear towards High Leader Taurus." He offered, which was not the reason but an intelligent guess.

You had actually not joined because you knew how violent the White Fang would get, and you didn't want to go through the horror of maybe you or them dying on a mission with the other ever knowing.

Corsac took the liberty of lifting you up off the ground, holding you in his arms as Fennec brushed some of the hair from your face. Corsac let out a low hum of satisfaction upon seeing your resting face.

"Beautiful." He whispered only loud enough for Fennec to hear, who simply nodded in agreement to his brother.

"...A missed opportunity.." Fennec gave his own thought, "We could have stayed.. Maybe even had a chance in a relationship.."

Corsac began to carry you back to where they had decided to rest, a solemn look on his face, "...And who's to say we don't have a chance?"

The two smiled at one another, knowing they hadn't exactly lost you yet.
