he was afraid to touch me because he considered me to be fragile

and he thought i would break

although he's never actually told me this in words, i know it's true

even steve, his best friend, has told me that

it bothers me because every time i try to get close to him or even high five him, he flinches away from me

at first, i thought it was because he found me repulsive, but steve then explained that it wasn't me

today, tony is making us all go against each other in the boxing rink so that he can see our weaknesses and point them out to us so that we can fix them

up first is me and natasha

we have a pretty matched fight, making it hard for tony to find either of our weaknesses

he let's us take a break, but informs us that we will have to go again, seperately

i watch for a while before tony says "next is steve and y/n"

i slip into the rink, smiling at steve, who i've grown close to over the years

"don't go easy on my cap" i say

he smiles "wasn't planning on it"

"3,2,1, go" tony shouts

overall, we both get a few punches in on each other and when we're done, tony points out our weaknesses

i walk over to the bench, sitting next to steve, as we both chug our water

"nice fight" i compliment him

he laughs "same to you and damn you have a good punch"

i laugh "thank you capsickle"

he stops drinking his water and playfully glares at me "i told you not to call me that"

i smile "you did, but who said i would listen"

he laughs "true"

a flash of silver comes into view causing me to look up and see bucky

i give him a warm smile as he nervously gives it back to me

"that was a good fight" he says

i smile "thanks bucky"

"yeah, thanks buck" steve says, smirking at him

bucky rolls his eyes at him and sits in the empty space between me and steve

i mentally scream in my head, excited

this is the closest bucky has ever been, considering that he usually keeps his distance from me
