Imagine you have a crush on Alec even though you have barely met. You think he doesn't even knows you exist and never tell him about your feelings. One day though while minding you own business, you stumble across Alec in trouble. You sacrifice yourself to save him and may not survive.
Being in love is amazing unless it's unrequited. That's me in love with someone who is way out of my league. I kick myself for even thinking about liking him. I mean I've only met the guy twice. Just so, those times spent together with Alec were long all because Clary found out she was, well... When she found out she wasn't the completely human or mundane.
I was walking while reprimanding myself silently. I had known Clary for years before she found out she was a Shadowhunter. I had got pulled in with her when I was the only one that saw what she saw at Pandemonium. Except I wasn't a Shadowhunter just a mundane with the sight. I was upset about it all until I literally ran into him.
*Flashback*
I was following Clary, Simon, and Maureen into the club. I was trying to figure out why the two didn't see the guy that ran into Clary.
"Are you serious in seeing what she saw, Y/N?" Simon asked me.
"Clear as crystal." I told him flat. He made a confused look and then turned back to Maureen. They decided to go gets us drinks and I stayed with Clary. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the guy. I got Clary's attention and pointed him out. We followed him into a curtained of room by locking arms with a seemingly important man. I immediately went off to the side as Clary went to the guy straight off.
"Watch out!" After she screamed, all hell broke loose. I was scared out of my mind by the events unfolding in front of me. I backed into the curtains and moved with the perimeter of the room. I wasn't paying attention and ran into someone. Next thing I knew there was a blade on my throat.

"Wait!" I screamed and looked to see a pair of blue eyes. I got lost in them and forgot the blade for a second. When I felt the blade push into my skin I snapped back. "I don't know what's going on but I just stumbled in here please!"
"You're a mundane." He said in a stern voice while looking at me intently.
"Yeah." I paused. "Sure." I whispered. He look around then retreated the blade from my neck and grabbed my arm. He pushed me into a nook concealed by curtains.
"Stay here." I backed up even more as he took off. I saw Clary run out and I was to scared to follow. I stayed there for only a bit longer when the guy came back up. He held out his hand. "Come on." I didn't move at first. He noticed and his tense form softened a bit. "Come on, we'll get you home."
