Chelsea's POV

I was walking around the Institute on a normal day when I ran into Clary.

"Hey Claries." I noticed a concerned look on her face. "What up?"

"Well, I just heard from Jace that Maryse is dropping by for a bit." I groaned.

"Oh great more gripping."

"Yeah. Not looking forward to it." She walked toward the training area where Jace was at. "See ya Chel!"

"Bye." I started to look around for my girlfriend. She was no where to be found. I walked around until I heard arguing. I turned a corner to see Izzy and Alec.

"Please just don't start anything with her." Alec told her.

"I never try too! It always happens with her no matter what I try!" She explained.

"Well then just don't go near her." He started to walk away.

"Like she'll let that happen." She called after him. She was looking out the window with her back to me. I snuck up behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist and my chin on her shoulder.

"By the angel, Chel!" She jumped. "You're the only one who can do that." She laid her hands on top of mine.

"So what's your mother coming for this time?" She just shook her head.

"Who knows." A sound went off after a few moments of silence. "She's here. Let's go." She grabbed my hand and we went back the way I came.

~Time Skip~

We got the same rant we always do. Everyone stopped listening half way through. Afterwards we were dismissed and Izzy and I tried to leave and avoid Maryse. But it didn't work.

"Isabelle, can I talk to you?" I heard a barely audible groan next to me. She looked at me and I gently rubbed her arm. She went over to her mother while I stayed put. I couldn’t hear what they were saying but I could tell it wasn't good.

"Well maybe if you actually could be serious and settled down you would be a better shadowhunter. " I heard that loud and clear. Izzy was trying to think of something to say but couldn't and stormed off. Maryse turned to walk the other way but I wasn't having it.

"Hey! Wait a minute!" I grabbed her arm and turned her around. "I know I'm going way out of my boundaries but you can't just do that!" I could see her eyes widen and Alec in the background.

"Excuse me?"

"I mean I know your high up but there is such thing as being a mother. You shouldn't criticize Izzy or even Alec. They amazing shadowhunters but you're to caught up in yourself to see it." She looked at me like I was crazy. "Maybe you should worry about being a mother first sometimes." I walked away.

~Another Time Skip~

I've been trying to find Izzy for about 10 minutes with no success.

"Izzy!" I finally found her up in the green house. "I've been looking everywhere." She looked at me with a tear stained face. "Oh Izzy." I wrapped my arms around her and she buried her head in chest.

"She's right. I'm not a good shadowhunter. I'm not, I'm not....I'm not enough. I'm nothing." I pushed her to arms length.

"Now hold on. Non of that is true in the slightest. You're amazing. You ate MORE than enough. I couldn’t imagine you being able to do more but you always surprise me. Don't listen to her. She don't know what she's talking about." I told her with truth. She gave me a smile.

"Thank you." She whispered.

"Of course." I kissed her nose and lent my forehead against hers. "I love you."

"I love you too." She lent into my arms. We sat there for awhile when I spoke up again.

"I love glad you told me."

"What?"

"I love mm glad you told me what you thought and what happened. Now I know what I can to to help." She just smiled. "And I mat have told your mother off in front of Alec." I told her.

"What?" She sat up and looked at me. I just smiled. "Oh Dios mío." We both laughed.
