Imagine: Jake and Clary are both Shadowhunters and have been together for 2 years. They celebrate their anniversary with a romantic date and then Jake has a surprise for Clary at the end of the night.
I was getting ready for my date with Clary. It was our 2 year anniversary and I couldn't be happier. I was so nervous that my palms were sweating. I was readjusting my tie when Simon walked in.
"Are you ready bud?" He asked. I nodded.
"Ready as I'll ever be." I turned from the mirror and walking toward the door.
"Good luck buddy." He handed me the item I asked him to pick up. I looked at him and put it in my pocket.
"Thanks Simon." I smiled, patted his shoulder, and walked out the door.
~Clary's POV~
I was smoothing out my dress for the thousandth time. I was making sure the dress looked okay.
"You look fine, Clary!" Isabelle was sitting on my bed in my normal apartment. I got ready here so Jack wouldn't see me at the Institute.
"You think so?"
"Perfecta!" I laughed as she exclaimed. I saw her walk up behind me. "Amazing. Everything is going to be perfect." She hugged me.
"I hope so." The doorbell than rang. "He's here."
"I love how you two get first date jitters even though you've been together forever." She giggled.
"Oh Shut up!" I laughed with her. I went to the door. I opened it to see Jake.
"Wow..." He said with wide eyes. I blushed.
~Jake's POV~
Clary's door opened to reveal Clary. She was in a beautiful dress.

"Wow...." I trailed off. I saw her blush. I grinned and held out my elbow. "My beautiful lady. Shall we go?" I asked. She nodded and took my arm. We walked away from her door. I turned back to see Izzy. She gave me a look and I gave her a wink.
~La Time Skip~
We were having dinner on a rooftop overlooking the city.
"It's beautiful up here." She was looking out at the city.
"Yes it is." She turned to look at me. "You know what else is beautiful?"
"What?" She smiled at me.
"You." She looked down and blushed. The music in the background changed to something slow. I stood up and held out my hand out. "Can I have this dance?"
"Of course." She took my hand and we started to glide across the floor.
"You are so beautiful tonight as you do everyday." I held her close.
"Thank you Jake. You look very handsome." She locked eyes with me. "This evening has been the best I've ever had." I smiled.
"It's not over yet." I whispered. I pulled her along as I ran in the direction of the bay.
"Ha ha! Jake! Where are we going?" She was laughing full on.
"Just wait." We ran to the best beach in the city.
"What are we doing here?" She took a few steps forward. I took the item out of my pocket.
"Clary?" I called to her.
"Hmm?" She turned toward me.
"Clary...You are the most beautiful girl I have ever met. You are also the bravest and most courageous shadowhunter I have ever seen. But I know you still treasure your mundane ways. So..." I revealed the item to be a velvet box.
"Oh my..." She gasped.
"It's not an engagement but it's a promise." I opened to show an embroidered ring.

Simple with patterns going through the metal. "I promise to marry you no matter what happens to us. Nothing can tear us apart." I slipped the ring on her hand.
