~Sherlock's POV~
I felt tears stinging my eyes. The emotions had finally gotten to my head and now I was in love with y/n. Y/n was laying on the ground in the streets unconscious after having been hit by a car. I was hoping that she'd be okay. I then heard a noise coming from her. It was a noise I couldn't quite place at the time but I noticed that her body was shaking so I thought she was crying. But after a moment or two I noticed she was laughing.
"Y/n?" I asked.
She rolled over onto her back, still laughing.
"What?" I asked but she didn't answer. "What's so funny? You've just been hit by a car!" I exclaimed.
She just shook her head as she calmed herself down. I gave her a confused look and she sat up.
"No. I was never hit by a car." She said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I knew that you loved me. I just had to draw it out of you. Apparently this is what it took." Y/n explained.
I continued giving her a confused look and she sighed, "Come on. I'll explain upstairs in 221B."
~Your POV~
Flashback:
You walked out the door of Sherlock's flat and an idea struck you. You smirked and opened the heavy black door downstairs. You looked up at the window to see if Sherlock was watching and sighed when he wasn't. You caught sight of a cab and held your hand out. You walked to the driver's window and smiled.
"Could you do me a favor?" You asked.
"What do you need, ma'am?" He questioned.
"I need you to go back a little ways and then come to a screeching stop so that it seems like I've been hit." You explained.
"I dunno-" He started but you interrupted him.
"I'll pay you more than I would pay for a cab ride." You said holding out some money.
He took it and backed up a bit. He then started driving forward and as he approached where I was, he slammed on the brakes. Once it was stopped you slammed yourself onto the hood, providing the thud noise to complete the sounds. You laid yourself on the ground quickly making it look like you were unconscious. The cabbie climbed out and you were relieved that he was very good at acting. You heard the door of 221B open and shut as Sherlock rushed over to you.
"Y/n! Y/n, can you hear me? Wake up! Please!" He begged.
You didn't move waiting for him to keep going. You knew where this was heading.
"Don't leave me, y/n. I need you." You had to try so hard not to smile since you figured what he was going to say next. "You were right...I love you."
There was a moment of silence before you couldn't hold it in any longer. You started laughing. It was silent at first since you were still trying to keep it in. But then it turned into a fit of laughter. And that's when you told Sherlock it was fake.
End of Flashback.
Sherlock sighed as he took in the whole story. He rubbed his forehead with his hand.
"So you heard everything I said?" He asked.
You smiled, "Every word." You stated.
He sighed and you stifled a little laugh.
"I told you, Sherlock." You said in a sing-song voice.
Sherlock managed a small laugh and then stood up.
"Would you believe me if I told you it was just the nerves?" He asked.
"Not for a second." You said shaking your head.
You stood up and stood beside him.
"You love me Sherlock, and I love you." You said.
"Now that is a true statement." He said smiling.
You smiled back and kissed him. He kissed back and you couldn't be happier. You did exactly what you knew you should, followed your heart.
